Would you allow anonymous tables or ban them completely?

Anonymous tables are online poker tables where player usernames are hidden or changed randomly.

You can’t track opponents over time, use long-term HUD stats, or know who you’re playing against repeatedly.
This makes games feel more like “fresh start” poker every session.
Some players like them because they reduce bumhunting and HUD advantage.

Others dislike them because reads, notes, and player history are a big part of online poker skill.

How can I ban anonymous tables?

Personally I don't like them. WHen Bodog switched over to anonymous format ~15yrs. ago, I stopped playing on that site.... but 15yrs. later I'm considering playing on there again. Go figure.

Instantly withdraw all my funds and stop playing on any trash site that would have anonymous tables. Poker is a game a of info, skill, knowing your villains, and tells. Anonymous tables tables take pretty much everything that makes poker.....poker away.

HUD's and trackers don't make winning players winners. I play on Pokerstars that allow HUD's/trackers and I'm a winning 21+ year player. I also have zero issues playing on sites that don't allow HUD's or have their own on site personal HUD.........guess what I'm winning player on those types of sites as well. HUD is great to us for studying/hand reviews........they don't make you winning player by just using them at the table.

Sites want rid of HUD's because they show how much rake you pay and help you improve your studying making you better player. There is no easier and better way to study....do hand reviews. It's better for the poker site if it turns poker into more of a game of bingo other wise winning players will win too much over the long run which in turn long term will dry up the pool player are all the losers have no more to lose. Losing players with no money when drained dry don't and can't rake. Site loses customer. Site loses money.

Cheers!!!

I’d allow anonymous tables with strict moderation and verification tools. They can help people speak honestly without fear, but completely unmoderated anonymity usually turns into spam, harassment, or misinformation pretty fast.

Thank you! :) I'd never even heard of that. I'm pretty neutral on whether to ban or not. Though I sort of like getting to know the people I'm playing with and like seeing them again, but cutting out the use of those HUDs is somewhat attractive.

I don't play cash games but I think having few anonymous cash tables is good for site. Maybe limit 1 anonymous table per player

Its up to sites, which kind of games, they offer, so how exactly am I as a player going to "allow" or "ban" any kind of games? It is however up to us, which games we choose to play. I have never played on anonymous tables and likely never will. For me its an important part of online poker to know, who I am playing against, at least in the form of a screen name and a location. Know who is a regular in my games, who is new and likely recreational etc.

I do not like them at all, there are no checks and balances.

Its much easier to see if someone is cheating if you have a hud, or can see on sharkscope they win way more when a certain other 2 people are at the table.

It also makes game selection impossible without names.

On the other hand, is it not better for recreationals not be identkfied immediately. It doesnt take too long tho, one limp and you know!

I play some anonymous games, they are ok and sometimes soft, but feel its missing something compared to the regular grind where i battle the regs and have 1000s of hands with them.

I hate anonymous tables. Poker is a game where we change our tactics depending on who we are playing, and our history with those players. That only exists in the short term at anonymous tables.

Ban.
If they are putting bots while nicknames are available, them this is a terrible idea.
Actually, I believe the best way to play online poker is yet to be invented.
God bless
