I speak at our capitol a lot for other reasons too. I will start advocating for this today by sending out emails, letters and making calls.

Here is an idea for the PPA;

-Provide a link to all previous bills whether they failed of not.

-Provide a synopsis of each of those bills. Better still a synopsis of each section of those bills.

-Somehow make it so that we, a thinking bunch, can pick and chose sections to include in putting together a new bill.

------

I have thought several times that the PPA should be involved in writing a perfect bill, but have yet to see it. In every bill I have read through, I can find way too much gobbledygook. Rather see an outline of the proposal, then the details.

I think that in the end, it will be a player, not a lawyer, or a corporation who solves the problems.

Also, since you're at it, provide us with the legalese about using others bills, in part, to construct a new proposal.

And yes, if your wondering, I do have an idea of a complete solution to the California conundrum. But IANAL, and reading thru legalese bores me to tears. I am prepared to cry a little more tho.

PPA works very closely with state legislatures on these types of bills. As you may imagine, every state is different. Some have tribal casinos (with varying types of tribal compacts), some have B&M commercial casinos, some are big on horse racing. Some states are more likely to go poker-only, while others would always include casino gaming.

With so much variety, there really isn't a cookie-cutter template to provide the states. Even if there were, few lawmakers want it to appear that the bill they introduced was written by anyone else.

So, PPA provides the info and helps with the details, providing our expertise and experience.
