This is largely a rant out of frustration.

I have a question for the PPA.

Has the PPA written any proposed bills for consideration?

If yes, what bills? And where can I find those proposals?

If no, why not?

In my wildest imagination, I would never consider that any lawmaker writes his own bills. He/she may come up with an idea on occasion, but others will write the proposed legislation. More often a legislative idea arises that a lawmaker doesn't vehemently oppose, and can thus sometimes even support.

We online poker players are going to get steamrolled because someone with special interests paid someone else to write proposed legislation to sway the laws his way, which is definitely not our way.

The PPA should have long ago written proposed legislation. The PPA should know all the relevant issues inside and out, and that proposed legislation should reflect all those issues.

IMHO the issues are simple;

-Separating online poker from all other online money based gaming, i.e. lotto's, slots, casino games, Horse Racing, Sports Books etc.

-Federal oversite of interstate or global issues involving online poker. This would include certifying each sites fairness, along with their money handling capabilities.

-State by State issues involving problem gambling, age verifications.

Really, is there much more involved than those concerns? Not really!

Special interests are a problem which we can not legislate away, unfortunately, but appeasing every special interest is beyond what we, the online poker players of the world, but more importantly, in America, expect the PPA to address.

Getting the meat of the problem into the hands of the lawmakers, via pre written legislative bills, is something the PPA should be doing. And those bills should be published with easy access to all online poker players.

We do all that, DJ11. There are two pro poker bills in Congress. I'm surprised you haven't heard. It's been well publicized.

You know, PPA isn't a for-profit. It's all of us working together for our rights. I hope you'll join the side of the fight where we take action for the game. Thanks.

You know....many think this fight should be easy. When things don't pass right away, they think PPA must have done something wrong, as everyone should love online poker. Sorry, but the truth is that many don't like online poker. We have a tough fight on our hands.
