Poker player Tom Dwan is threatening to sue a psychiatric hospital for forced treatment.In addition, Dwan mentioned surveillance by foreign intelligence agencies and an unknown individual who hacked his phone and stole all his information in his posts. He also spoke about the antics of British police, who managed to break a rib and arm, and puncture a lung.

Hope Dwan gets the mental help he needs. He sadly seems to need plenty. As for foreign intelligence agencies being interested in him and following him. I'll bet all the money their a lot more interested in some of the company it's been rumored he's keeping. Hang around organized crime and Asian gangs law enforce will surely take an interest in you. Actions have consequences despite the majority believing otherwise.

Yes I heard the rumour he owes some millions to Asian gangsters but don't know if its true.
He definetly has some mental health issues.
His tweets back then when he was admitted implies some kind of paranoia.
He was a great cashgame player back in the day.
Enjoyed watching the kid destroying the regs 😅👌🏼

Yeah I'm not sure either how true it is but the fact foreign intelligence agencies are interested in Dwan and following him(if true) would tell me the rumor of him owing millions and hanging with Asian gangsters is likely very true. I mean for all we know Dwan is extremely delusional and paranoid. As there also have been rumors for a long time of massive hardcore drug use.

I miss watching and hearing about the old Dwan as well. Dude was an amazing cash game player back then. Dude seriously thought on a high level then 95% of the players. Very few back then could match him and hang with him. It was really fun to watch.

Intelligence agencies are very unlikely following him.
More likely that was part of his paranoia I think
Intelligence agencies aren't usually interested in pokerpros lol. And its not like he is a criminal just a worn out pokerpro who owes people , allegedely powerful people a lot of money

I'd agree they most likely they weren't. But when hangs one with those type of people ones odds are better. Hell they could have been only following the gangsters and Dwan just happened to be with the gangsters at the time. They're not interested in a poker degenerate even if he is named Tom Dwan.

Yeah Dwan has some very deep/bad mental issues there's no doubt about it.

I think you are making light of mental illness and I'm calling you out on it.

Having a bad run at poker will not trigger such an outbreak. Could have various reasons, underlying problems since childhood for instance. Sometimes you can get into a temperary delirium too. Having dealt with mental illness from people close to me I will tell you this, I wouldn't wish it upon the worst of my enemies.

I could watch Tom Dwan in his pomp playing poker any day of the week, he literally rocked the established guard to the core when he burst on the scene. The old episodes of high stakes poker with Dwan and Ivey, Doyle, Sammy etc are still one of my favourite things to watch. I sure hope Tom is well 🤞

This is honestly heartbreaking to read. 😕 The pressure at the nosebleed stakes over so many years must be unimaginable. I saw some of the tweets and just thought he was tilting or trolling, didn't realize it was a genuine breakdown. Hopefully, stepping away from the tables and getting help is exactly what he needs right now.
