Hi,

If you are on GGpoker, I believe you have seen this already.

I was looking forward to this 100k tournament. I have found a ticket for it somehow.

When looking at the price pool - I was shocked to see that 3-9 place have ticket, no $.

Do you believe playing this tournament is waste of time?

No payout seems to be real $. Only tickets or cash money.

Its a $2500 ticket.....but yeah, who wants to that, its probably a waste of time, and 10th place in C$1000!! Pointless.....I mean what poker player wants to play $1000 worth of cash games for free!!

OK, sarcasm over!!

Personally I think its an amazing promo and opportunity for players!! There's a thread thats been going a while about this Weekly tournament!!

If you want to add anythng else, or share some results, thats the place to do it

Of course C$ are worth exactly the same as regular $ (those who play cash games know it very well).
But as for $2500 ticket I would not be so happy. I would personally prefer CS1000 than $2500 ticket.

If someone usually plays micro, C$1000 is just ALOT of money, alot of cash games buyins which in time would be transferred into regular, real cash. While $2500 ticket is ... well, just 1 ticket which will be lost with 99% probability and transferred to zero.

In another GG promo I have won $150 tickets twice so far and of course lost them. I prefer the next place worth C$75.

For me it would be a nice option if these tickets could be cashable to C$, even for less money.

But anyway I find it a great promo, as many other GG promo's.

I would prefer, all C$ too, like last week, but its free, and if I won the $2500 ticket I'd be very excited for the chance to win a once in a lifetime poker trip and game!! And you just never know, when your luck is in!!

Sensible me would prefer C$1000, but excited me would love the ticket :ROFLMAO::)

Pokerstars have same type of freerolls. But they call it PowerPath, where you can win great tickets to big tournaments.🤘

I totally agree, after all it's free to try. Once you play cash with the C$, anything you win will be added to your real balance. Any complaints?

I had no idea, I never checked the payouts. I played the tournament last Saturday and was out way before the money, so I never checked. I guess it's better than nothing. Still, it must be disappointing for those players who final table to get money they need to play at cash games before taking it out. As for their promotions, I tried several, whenever I get a bigger ticket, I never cash. Not a fan of their promotions.

Honestly, for me it does not matter - C$ equals $. I just play cash games on regular basis, so I transfer C$ into $ pretty fast.

I wouldn't say wasted time, you have the chance to get tickets and from that, in turn, the chance to make something really great out of it. Of course, there is the risk that you achieve nothing with the ticket, but it's a freeroll, so you don't lose anything. On the contrary, you have the chance, as some have already written, to have the trip of a lifetime. I dream more of the Bahamas than Las Vegas.

I think these promotions are really cool! This same weekend we had 2 100k freeroll tournaments on GG and WPT. Congrats!
It's a nice incentive to improve a bankroll! The poker sites need more tournaments regularly with missions that aren't so complex to get the ticket. It keeps players more engaged on the site by maintaining a frequency. Everyone happy!lol

I am working, have wife n kids - I can't take poker trips anytime, however I would love it.
The thing is that $ is not C$.

Anyway, I'll take a shoot - who knows... You can not win if you are not playing!

Such tournaments must be played at an accelerated pace and with a great risk. This is my recommendation. Sometimes you can get lucky.

Yeah. This is like a time share company that invites you to a presentation with the lure of a free ticket. It might just as well be a free ticket on the first commercial flight to the Moon provided you spend $500 in their store. Total waste of time.
