Quick question. I don't really like pokerstars, but everyone else seems to. Is there a reason for this since you can't get rakeback there? I know there are a ton of fish there, but there's tons of everything there, so that wouldn't really push me that way.:hmmmm:

Stars VIP system is effectively a rakeback system. For higher levels much much better than FT as well.

If you make it to platinum or higher status on PS, the FPP system is more or less the equivalent of rb.

What orange said about finding softer sites than FT applies to PS as well, though, neither site is considered soft relative to others.

I'm pretty interested in getting rb at FT, largely cuz I'm intrigued by rush poker, it seems soft and grinding tons of hands seems like it ought to be easy. I was able to get almost 1K hands an hour 3tabling rush, and think I could 4table without significantly impacting winrate.

Even at lower levels with the new program you can do okay. They have the stellar rewards program and have offered good sales for cash bonuses and tournament tickets.

If I were getting rakeback at FT then I would have been paid about the same as I have earned at PS.

Problem is that for someone like me that can only play 2k-3k hands max in a month, I'm never coming close to anything similar to rakeback on PokerStars.

I also agree w/ Orange that there are other sites, and sites that are much easier to beat! Try Cake for instance... that player pool is soooooooo soft!! I love it there, and I think the fact that players can't use HUD's keeps a good amount of the regular grinders/better competition away - but it's just my theory. They also offer a higher amount of rakeback % if I am not mistaken. Problem is that a lot of players do not buy in with full stacks, which is annoying, but you get over it when all of their money ends up in your account.

And even though I do like cake, I just really would like to have the option to play at fulltilt w/ rakeback. Just like Sly, I want to play rush, I like the game selection, and the software is really attractive in my opinion. It just sucks that I'm tied to some affiliate and don't know who.

As we can?t switch your account to another affiliate or open a second account for you, you will not be eligible to receive rakeback in the future.

We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that you will continue enjoy playing with us.

I totally understand why they don't offer rakeback to players who signed up through an affiliate link and have no problem with that whatsoever.

What is wrong is that they won't tell you who the affiliate is. You could be missing out on deals that the affiliate offers it's members. I had no idea for years who my FT affiliate was. Meanwhile they were offering $3000 weekly freerolls to their members - which are now only $1500. It took me over a year to get FT to let me register for these freerolls. I have played in 3 of them now and cashed twice. The field is small and very soft.

But I should not have had to work so hard to figure out who my affiliate was - and then work on FT for over a year to make them admit they were my affiliate so I could reap the benefits from it.

No kidding? Why didn't anyone tell me this before?

But the reasons are fairly simple.

1. I the US there are less options than where you live.
2. There is more action, stakes, players, and games there than all but one other site.
3. There is at least the perception of better security and service at the two big sites than the others.
4. Various promotions.
5. I have a roll there.
6. Rush?

I did not use that email for anything else so rarely checked it. One day I found an email which said that my ticket for some 30k freeroll was in my account and I could register. It was na freeroll offered by my affiliate. They have great huge freerolls there once a month and because I never checked that email I never knew it lol.

I then noticed I was getting an email from FT every month about weekly freerolls from the same affiliate. However I was never able to register for them. And - why did they send me those emails every month? They insisted I wasn't attached to them. I sent more emails - they all denied I was attached to that affiliate.

Then I applied for rakeback and was turned down because I was attached to an affiliate lololol. They refused to tell me who it was - but I knew it had to be the same one as PS. I finally contacted the affiliate who after several emails to FT straightened it out for me. So FT was less than honest with me.

I can only assume that FT was not paying my affiliate for the rake on my account - no other explanation I can come up wth explains this. I bet they are paying them now though lol.

LOL yeah sounds like something strange was going on.

I support FT 100% in not allowing people to sever their ties to the affiliate they signed up with because I understand what the affiliate program is, why its there and why FT cant let people sever ties with them (this results in people not getting RB, but it isn't because FT has anything against people getting RB, which is the conclusion many people seem to jump to).

What I don't understand is why FT are reluctant to tell people who their affiliate is. I really don't understand this from a security / data protection / privacy / legal or customer service stance. There has to be a reason, but FT dont seem to make it clear why they wont tell you who the affiliate is. This I certainly do not agree with.

Just finally emailed RBP again after a couple months, wonder what Ill get for a response this time. Im not expecting anything since I have almost completely stopped playing there, but my actual volume has gone up in the past few weeks (just all at Pokerstars). Hmm, lets see what happens.

RBP

The only thing you need from FT is confirmation that your account is not already tied to an affiliate. If it isn't then the next step is to get RBP to submit the paperwork.

OK well I did try to get to the bottom of why it is that FT cannot give you details of the affiliate you are linked to.

I had to LOL at his final reply (which it the first email on the screen.. it reads from the bottom up) because I was asking about how the privacy policy was worded such that a player could not find about the affiliate which was linked to his own account. FT could not disclose more information about the privacy policy. I can only assume this is because they have a private privacy policy.

So there you have it folks, its due to their privacy policy but its also their policy not to disclose information about their privacy policy.

We are having a discussion on a forum about getting RB on an existing account.

I understand the affiliate system completely so this is definitely not a question about why someone cannot switch affiliates.

However one point keeps cropping up. Some people sign up via an affiliate
and for whatever reason forget who this affiliate is. FT will inform them
that their account is linked to an affiliate but have a policy of not revealing who the affiliate is. Could you take a bit of time to explain why it is that FT will not inform a customer as to the identity of their affiliate.

People always say things like this, I have only ever contacted FT support a handful of times, all have been responded to in under 2hours except maybe one that took 24 hrs.

So my experience of FT support has always been a good one.

Me too, I've never had to wait more than a day for a response, and it's usually within a few hours.
