I logged on to FT today and started adding tables. Around the third one or so I noticed my available BR was...what I thought my whole BR was.

Oh, right, I meant to check on RB!

Just a bit over $10 in RB. Woo hoo!

I'm posting because even though I got the "You're in" letter, I've felt like I'll believe it when I see it. Wanted to let you all know it's real.

RF

It's actually real? I thought for sure it was a semi-bluff. I thought that they just tell you you're now getting rakeback but don't really give it to ya... just so that you get the Full tilt effect.

Haha! Well, I got the same letter everyone else did. Full Tilt will send you something to confirm blah blah blah. Full Tilt never sent me anything to confirm, so I did wonder if this was just the next step in the never ending saga. It wasn't. It. Is. Done.

This may not be the right place, but Ill ask anyway. To get rakeback do you need to deposit alot and play with alot. Or you can get RB with any deposit amount when you play.

I didn't deposit a cent but played a hell of a lot :p.

ive depsoited $180 in my lifetime at ft, and have played 300 mtts/sngs and maybe 20000 hands of ring in 2 years there, so its not to do with quantity.
Start of with very polite emails to them, and big them up, lol, thats my original route.

Again, that's true but only if you failed to deposit within 60 days of signing up. While most probably deposit right away, some do not and their affiliate relationship will be canceled. That's what happened to me -- I signed up with an affiliate link from a freeroll site, but didn't deposit on FT until like a year later. FT informed me of this 60-day rule when I asked about getting RB.

I keep saying this because I had listened to everyone saying that affiliate signups were hopeless so I never pursued it. Then after playing for nearly two years (though no real volume until late last year), on a whim I asked and was surprised to actually receive RB along with the 60-day explanation. So if anyone else out there had an affiliate signup but didn't deposit right away, don't lose hope!

Do remember to deposit after getting RB otherwise you will lose that affiliate after 60 days!

I think it depends on who the affiliate is and when you signed up. This was something they changed at some point - but some contracts were already in place.

But yea - I should have specified if you signed up through an affiliate and deposited within 60 days there are no exceptions. If you didn't deposit within 60 days you may or may not still be tied to that affiliate.

LOL, that would suck.

I had always heard that RB was the absolute nuts but didn't really appreciate that fact until I started pulling it in. Just 9-tabling 50NL after work and a little on weekends I can bring in $100+/week in RB easy. I earned $84 this past week and only increased to 9 tables (from 4-8) a couple of sessions ago, and skipped playing a couple days during the week too. So I can't stress enough how important RB is to micro/low stakes players. At high stakes it wouldn't be as significant but even then, free money is free money! Well I guess technically one could argue that it was my money in the first place, but I look at it like a cost of doing business that I had to pay to play, so I'll still call it free money.

Yeah you're probably right, they didn't say when that policy went into effect. Fortunately I got in on the +EV side of that change.

People don't realise just how much of a killer rake is at the micro stakes.

1. You are probably paying almost the equivalent of your entire BR in rake each month (assuming you play 20-30K hands)

2. It effects your equity decisions as 5% of the pot represents 10% of the effective stack and thus kills "thin value"

Bing blang blaow!

Congratulations!

You are now a RakeBackPros player and you will receive 27% rakeback on all your future play at Full Tilt Poker!
It took about four or five back-and-forth email exchanges with Full Tilt, and I'd ramped up my (very much micro-stakes) play in the past few days. Time to set up a deposit to start clearing the bonus. Aww yee!

Hang in there if you're not affiliated already!

cool swrittenb, glad it went smooth for you, I honestly think I sent around 27 emails in a year to FT and RBP before a single reply from RBP, FT's hands were 'tied', lol!

Yay! RakebackPros just approved me today to receive 27% rakeback. I do have one question though. Do I need to deposit on FTP to receive the rakeback? Or, will I just automatically start receiving it? I'm having a little trouble understanding how that works.

I got the very same email a few mins ago, 27% paid every friday.
I think you have to deposit there, but maybe if you won freeroll money and ran it up and then generated rake that way, surely you'd get it back?

I'm pretty sure you don't have to deposit but obviously need to play in real money games to earn rakeback (since that is where rake is collected). If all you play are freerolls and cash out your winnings, then no you won't ever earn rakeback because you never pay rake. But if you built a BR from freerolls and then started playing real money games, then no you shouldn't need to deposit.

For any game that collects rake, whether ring, MTT, or SnG, you'll get your 27% cut of that rake.

Well the only conclusion that can be drawn from all of the above is that Full Tilt Poker officially hates you cAPSLOCK. Or more to the point:

[ ] FTP loves cAPS
