It should probably eliminate bad behaviors that may be occurring because this is not healthy. Now, about the implementation, it should put some kind of loyalty card with exclusive benefits in exchange for making purchases or using poker room services so that the customer can accumulate points and exchange them for prizes or discounts.

One of the most memorable moments of all time! He was the oldest participant ever to play in a world series of poker event until last year.

I think it's interesting the ideas people have.. but looking at it as an owner is a little different,

so I would not ban alcohol or hire a bunch of beautiful waitresses... I would make it more female

friendly for females who wanted to play and bring their friends, I would keep the slot machines

even though I hate them but they'd have to go in some room far away from the tables,

I like the focus to be mainly on poker, not slots or sports or girls but you do

have to keep what's bringing in the money too so probably not too much

more I would change... as long as it was working 👍

If I had my own poker room, I would not allow phones to be used at the table at all. I think they slow down the game and also are potential devices for cheating. As with some poker rooms, I would have good music playing (but not too loud) and have sporting events on the televisions around the room. I would also have a self-service drink station for soft drinks, coffee, and tea. I would also ensure that my dealers and floor staff are trained to not allow any bullying at the tables and to enforce the rules without having to be asked by the players.

I’d love to get rid of all the nits and robots hiding behind sunglasses. Remember how great live poker used to be with personalities like Sammy Farha and Jamie Gold at the table?

I know it is probably not realistic but if we just have to create a hypothetical scenario:

Things I get rid of

1. Excessive Rake - maybe a relative low rake per hour instead of from the pot.

2. Slow gameplay and excessive wait times. Efficient seating systems with mobile apps or kiosks that allow players to register for games remotely and get seated faster.

3. No player assistance - leave all electronics at the door.

Things I’d Implement or Bring Back

1. Diverse game offerings - More mixed games for the people.

2. Modern tech integration. How about Automatic Chip Stacking Robots.

3. On-table food and drink service that doesn't disrupt play, with reasonably priced options.

4. Breakout lounges or quiet areas where players can relax between sessions.

Just for fun

Bad Beat Comfort Food: If someone suffers a really bad beat, have a waiter bring them an immediate comfort food snack.
I was thinking all of those tbf! A big parade or free drink if someone wins with a Royal Flush!

Full banter and swearing allowed, as long as you're not being aggresive towards anyone!

So you became a manager/owner of your favorite poker room. What will be the first thing you will get rid of there and what will be the first thing you will implement or return and why?

Thanks to @iwont20 for this topic idea.
To be honest first thing I should probably do is to fire myself from that position and find someone else to run it. :)

But let's pretend I didn't fire myself and that it is a live room that we are talking about. It should include something that should bring more people in and that they return there regularly because they are satisfied with and on top of that something that should also mean more profit for the room itself:
  • I would ask for a report what that poker room had in the past but it was discontinued
  • Sent an questionnaire (if we have email addresses of players) to see what they are suggesting (if they respond then give them free ticket for a tournament or something like that)
  • Ask WPT/EPT/WSOP are they interested in sponsoring tickets for EPT/WPT/WSOP for the winners of some sort of league or a qualifier for big tournaments at my poker room
  • check what other poker rooms have and mine doesn't which should popularize my poker room

running a poker room is actually a fun job: I will definitely still follow local operating regulations and I really need more discipline in my local poker room now, but fairer rules to protect players (where I play there have been cases of faking highhand jackpots for profit)

First thing I would get rid of is high rakes because they decrease the profitability for players and drive players away.

First thing I would implement would be a player friendly atmosphere. This would include encouraging feedback sessions where regulars can suggest improvements or voice concerns and better dealer training to promote fairness when handling debates.

I would give all players in general a lot of comfort when playing poker in my room, many offers to always keep them active.

I would like to make the poker room a safe place for everyone who plays or works there. Just trying to create a room where everyone is welcome and has a good while playing. Good food for a reasonable price is a must. And a variety of games and limits. Everyone should be able to play, even people with smaller bankrolls. And still, some kind of security would be nice. And hoping not to get robbed,

I bought the one in the picture so I wouldn't have to sink a lot of cash into it,
everything had just been redone a couple years ago and it was making a little over 35,000
a month after rent and paying the employees but the guy was about to retire and I had a nice condo
in Daytona Beach he loved so I gave him that as a down payment and promised him 10,000 a month for a year.
everything was running pretty smoothly but I passed out a flyer for ideas anyway and included an evaluation
of the employees, I only had to fire one guy and make a few small changes. moved some slot machines around and added two tables
for variant SnGs and extended our room hours. we should be printing money soon :giggle:
we will escort you to your car upon request.

I would take other rooms such as GGPoker as an example, of course I would hire professionals to help me with decision making and I would like to implement things that give benefits to the players.

Maybe I would start by moving the slot machines to a separate room outside the poker room.....On the other hand, I would ban all inappropriate players who can't behave.......I would use many smaller random bonus games during the game,.. ..etc......

what a challenge&honor

1. take down this high rake from poker games , especially @CASH game tables
2. seperate poker tables from other gambling areas

things that i would implement:

1. dress code @poker table: no sun glasses, baseball caps or other head wearables, hoodies .
2. chill out area with wellness chairs

I like 888 poker room for the fact that during the game you can show some emoticons and you can throw different items at other players, sometimes it makes the game more interesting and can make a good mood. But what I don't like about this poker room is that you can't filter only freeroll tournaments in the mobile application.
