I'm having trouble accessing PokerStars, 888poker, and partypoker. Is anyone else in Brazil having the same problem? Were they able to solve it?

Your president has apparently banned online gaming. Players must withdraw their funds by October 5th, otherwise the operator is obligated to return them to their bank accounts within the following week. However, the ban will likely be temporary. If Congress does not approve the order within four months, it will expire.

I currently play on the three sites you mentioned, and everything works fine for me.

Change your connection's DNS settings so that the provider doesn't block access indiscriminately:
(use this to access poker rooms only. Don't use it to try to access bets)
Step by step in Windows 10 and Windows 11
  1. Open network connections:
    • Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run window.
    • Type ncpa.cpl and click OK . This will directly open the Network Connections screen.
  2. Choose your internet provider:
    • Right-click on the connection you're currently using.
    • If you use cable, click Ethernet . If you use wireless internet, click Wi-Fi .
    • Select Properties .
  3. Access IP settings:
    • In the list that appears in the center of the window, look for IP Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) .
    • Quickly double click on it (or click it and then click the Properties button below).
  4. Enter the new addresses:
    • At the bottom of the new window, check the option “Use the following DNS server addresses” .

    • Now fill in the fields with the server numbers of your choice. The one from Google is the most recommended for games:
      • Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
      • Alternative DNS server: 8.8.4.4
    • (Optional) If you prefer the Cloudflare option (which is also excellent and very fast):
      • Preferred DNS server: 1.1.1.1
      • Alternative DNS server: 1.0.0.1
  5. Save:
    • Check the “Validate settings on output” box (if available) and click OK in this window and then OK in the previous window.
Ready! Your computer will start using the new routes immediately. It is recommended to close and reopen your poker room to test the connection.

But in principle, poker was not included in the ban. For now, it's still allowed.

Your answer has nothing to do with the thread starter's question.

The Brazilian government's ban targets online betting—the so-called "Bets"—whereas poker is completely legal in Brazil and is considered a mind sport.

Passo a passo no Windows 10 e Windows 11

Pronto!

I changed the settings here and now everything is working normally. Thank you so much!

I have several Brazilian friends who are incredibly skilled. They play with such intensity—it's wild; they're truly amazing.

I only having issues with Party Poker when I use my wifi, but I can login when I use my cell routing. I think this more a provider problem. All the other sites are working for me.

A guy from Latvia wants to know more than I do—and I'm Brazilian; 🤣 read below what a report from a renowned Brazilian newspaper says.

Today, around 7 million people play poker in Brazil, mostly online. In Curitiba, there are at least five venues where the game is played live every day. But why aren't these people arrested in the act, given that games of chance are prohibited in Brazil?

The answer is simple: because poker is not a game of chance. According to Article 50 of Decree-Law 3.688/41, a game of chance is one "in which winning and losing depend exclusively or primarily on luck." Casino roulette, for example, falls into this category.

Poker is different because a player's skill makes a difference. Numerous studies prove this, showing that knowledge of the rules, the importance of table position, emotional control, the ability to read opponents and extract chips—among other factors—are more important in the medium and long term than the lucky card a player might hit.

To cite just a few studies, Cigital—a Canadian company specializing in software security and quality testing—analyzed 103 million poker hands. The company concluded that in 63% of hands, the player wins without showing their cards, with skill alone prevailing. However, regarding the remaining 37%, the hand that *should* have won folds halfway through more than half the time.

"According to this study, which has a negligible margin of error, luck plays a decisive role in only 12% of cases. There are dozens of other reputable studies indicating that luck is the deciding factor in poker between 10% and 16% of the time," says Igor Federal Trafane, president of the Brazilian Texas Hold’em Confederation—Texas Hold’em being the m

Try to find out which providers grant access and which ones restrict it. It might be worth simply switching providers.

I think the problem is with your country's server, or there is a ban on poker games in your country.

In my country, I can't play on 888 for ten years, on PartyPoker for five, and on PokerStars for a one year.
And in our gambling act, poker is lumped together with roulette and slot machines.
