Prop bet on GGpoker

GGPoker offers an interesting feature in the form of a side bet within MTTs. Essentially, it is a wager on outlasting specific opponents. You might not reach the money (ICM ), but you can still recoup your buy-in and make a profit simply by outlasting the players you bet against. You can create your own bet by setting your preferred criteria or join existing ones. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on this and whether it’s a profitable move.

Do you know if you can choose who you are going to bet with or is it just an open wager that anyone can join before the MTT starts?

I have seen quite a few of these and sometimes the prizes are bigger than those of the main tournament itself. Things can get pretty wild.

In the options, you can select the number of participants or make the bet private by setting a password. You can also choose how payouts are distributed—either as a fixed amount per player or based on a percentage relative to the number of players. Yesterday, I participated in a contest where the top 20% of players took home the prizes.

I think it's a good tool. The good thing about Prop Bets at GGPoker is that they change the traditional ICM dynamic a bit: even if you hit the crossbar before the ITM, you can still save the buy-in (or even make a profit) if you know how to choose your opponents well or if you are more profitable than the field average.

Yes, you're absolutely right; I share your view. I recently noticed this add-on and started analyzing it a lot of strong regulars consistently participate in these runs. A huge plus is that the bet can resolve long before tournament registration closes, allowing you to recoup the buy-in and turn a decent profit.
