stealing blinds

What hands do you condsider worthy of stealing blinds with? Do you use hands that might be good on thier own? Or is it anything goes? And I know that some of us mix it up but what predominantly do you use?

If I'm going to steal the blinds, any hand will do, at least from the button. I will make this move from the SB as well, but I'm more likely to actually have a hand of some sort. Now, I don't consider raising from the button w/K5 stealing. This is a value bet. With just the blinds to act, King high may in fact be a gamer. Of course I'd be happy to win the hand right out, but I'm in position and not afraid of going HU against one of the blinds. If I get 2 calls, or a re-raise, the hairs on the back of my neck start to raise as well.

I think the only proper answer is surely "depends".

In a ring game, I might not bother at all. The blinds are quite likely insignificant in relation to stack sizes.

In the late stages of an STT or MTT, when the blinds are large, I would probably steal with Ax or even Kx, as well as pairs.

I voted that anything goes, but of course that comes with the standard, conditional, poker cop-out of it is situational and depends. But all things being equal, it isn't really a steal if it is a good hand.

I think any two cards in great position is worth stealing the blinds if there aren't many limpers or raises. You should have included that option. But, in any position, a good drawing hand, pocket pair or paint would be a good opporunity to blind steal.

There are situations where I'll steal without even looking at my cards, there are situations where I'd need a premium hand to steal. It's impossible to provide a catch-all answer to a question like this.

Maybe it is because i'm not confident in my "without cards" game (ie bluff) but I still need the position (button or SB) and the cards to try to steal the blinds.
Or maybe could I do it if I have some domination on the table.
I can't feel confident doing it with 72 offsuit.

That is probably a part of my game I still have to work.

That lack of confidence apart I should say any 2 cards should made the trip for. Hope I could take this answer soon

I chose the first option, but really of course "it depends". I might try to steal with any two cards if I have a good read on my opponents and know that a majority of the time they will fold to a well laid bet.

One thing I (almost) never do, it to try and steal with a minimum raise (really, I should right on Ode to Dorkus with that concept as a theme

). I will experiment throughout a game to figure out what the sweet spot is (bet-size wise). Thus the only time I use the min. raise is if I know my opponent will lay it down.

Completely situational.

Are the blinds loose? tight? prone to folding their blinds to any aggression or will they fight with garbage?
Is it in the early or middle stages of the tourney? Or is it a cash game?
Stack sizes?
My table image?

Too much to consider to give an exact answer to this. I didn't vote.

I rarely steal blinds, which is not one of your options in the poll, and when I decide to steal it depends on howfew callers there are and my chip stack at the time.

How about trying to win the big blind - when you are the small blind? It seems that it is getting harder and harder to a player to lay ANYTING down in the BB, and then I am only getting 1-1 on my money.......what do you guys like doing here?
