So I was lucky enough to be awarded a prize of $7 in TM (Tournament Money) on BetOnline...

...however, when I try to use it for an $11 tournament, the site won't let me register using TM because (obviously) I don't have the full amount in TM for the tournament. I can only register using my USD balance and unless I'm wrong, it will take the entire $11 entry fee from my cash balance.

The way that other sites do it is they don't differentiate between cash and TM, they simply take the TM first, and any remaining entry fee owed comes from our cash balance. Why doesn't BetOnline do this? Wouldn't that make more sense and be more fair to us?

The only way I can use my TM gift is to register for a tournament that costs less than $7, but that will leave me with a small TM balance I can't ever use, which annoys me.

Am I correct about this, and is there any other way to use up ALL my TM on BOL? Thanks.

yes you are very correct about this. i was wondering a few weeks ago too what the hell they were thinking when they implemented this.

just do it like all the other sites BOL, how hard can it be? just take away tournament money first and then the rest of the amount in real money or let people choose whatever mix they like. its weird because normally i am a big fan of the chico software in terms of functionallity and user friendliness.

i actually think, apart from this strange way they handle tournament money, the chico software is the best on the market right now.

Yes I have :hahaha:51 cents of TM free and have gotten TM off them several times over the years which was appreciated.
Latest was in their welcome back bonus promotion recently think converted the freebie to a $9 roll after playing it happy enough with that as it was free.:icon_sant
Wait just checked they now have 10 cents and 25 cents games running:top: just one cent not able to use lol is not really something to complain about to be honest guys in my case anyway.

I don't think that's a problem. You just try to use the tournament money as efficiently as possible. And if you have a few tournament cents left, it's not a problem, if they annoy you, don't pay attention to them. :)

You guys clearly don't have OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) like I do!!! :D

Aha!!!! Thank you very much mervin, this is absolutely the best answer. I had no idea they offer $7 SNG's because I usually don't play SNG's and because $7 is a very strange amount to charge for SNG's... but I took a look and yes, it is true, BetOnline runs them.

For anyone wondering... the $7 SNG is actually a $6.42 fee with $0.58 rake... even tho it is very odd amounts, they are giving players a slight discount over the usual 10% rake... so, well done, BetOnline!! :)

I do agree that BOL could include more options for using a combination of TM and $, but I will take the free money anytime they want to give it.

As far as spending every last penny, it can be a challenge, bus as was already mentioned, there are some low stakes games available. The last time I was faced with this dilemma I planned out how I could spend every last penny. Doing a tournament sort on buy-in right now, I see a $0.10, $0.11, $0.55, $0.66, $1.05 and $1.10 game available. It may be cumbersome to play some of these small games, but if you have an odd amount of TM to spend, putting a few of these small games into the mix will probably allow you spend every penny.

Good Luck and God Bless.
