Unfortunately I have necessarily been away from the forum for a few months and would like to know bout Party Poker.
Is it no longer available in Alberta and have I lost my account balance?

I believe they launched Party Poker Alberta in the summer... according to Pokernews,

Party Poker Alberta will soon hit the market, following Alberta launching its own ecosystem in July 2026.

  • July 13, 2026: Alberta officially launches its regulated iGaming market.
  • July 13, 2026 - October 13, 2026: For most operators, Albertans can continue to play on international poker sites.
  • Post October 13, 2026: Any operator must have launched their Alberta-specific platform or exited the market.
  • Late 2026 (Shared Liquidity): Shared liquidity with Ontario has yet to be confirmed, but plans are underway to implement it and a shared network is expected.
... would have to contact them and see about transferring your account or withdrawing and registering there👍

Always cashout your money if you decide to not play anymore for a while. There is no benefit in having it on the site and some sites even charge inactivity fees.

Party Poker has gone so far downhill in the last couple of years not being able
to play there is no loss.

I'm honestly loving that site! Sure the numbers are low but playing low stakes MTT's is like playing some 90man, 180-man SnG's from back in the FulltiltPoker days. Software is good. Connection is always stable. Payouts are prompt! (both Dep. & WD are easy).
The cash tables have fewer players than most other sites (maybe more than 888 though... or close anyways) but playing just 25nl tables on there (there's no traffic above that... not that I'd play above that anyways), I've managed to WD $1,000's off of there each year. There's a handful of solid regulars who play some long hours but there's also some REALLY bad players too! I play the FastForward tables but it doesn't take long to discern between the solid and not so solid players.
They've recently eliminated the 2nl tables so the 5nl tables are fairly busy.

I just started playing some MTT's again last week (finally!), and I added in some games from Partypoker to my schedule. I enjoyed them so much that I'm now planning on playing every single MTT on the site from $5 > $22 & a few $33's. Structures are good! I noticed a former Cardschat regular playing the MTTs on there and was doing quite well in them. He was also streaming them on Twitch for a while but haven't seen him recently (JonnyWatford, I'm guessing you remember him).
