When I log in to the WPT Global client, I get this error: http error status 503,

I can't sign in either, I had registered for a tournament just now... I think it's under maintenance!

Change the DNS server in your PC's internet settings to a different one—for example, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. That should solve the problem.
