Do You Use HUDs?

Tools like PokerTracker and Hold’em Manager are useful for online cash games. Do you think they’re essential, or do you prefer playing without them?

I do not use my HUD very much anymore, its just because the sites that are available to me dont support huds.

I think HUDs are very useful, they allow you to better game select, to review play, and make faster decisions in game. One of the biggest benefits of HUDs is that they are a great way to identify cheaters.

I have a look just out of curiosity to see other player’s earnings. I don’t think it really helps. I also noticed that if you win a free ticket on 888 that it includes the value of your ticket in the MTT total winnings amount.

They're not essential, but I'd say they become pretty valuable once you're grinding regularly. The real win for me has been tracking leaks over time—you think you play tighter in certain spots until you pull up the actual stats and see you're off. Both PT4 and HM3 are solid choices. If you're playing small stakes casually, honestly you might not notice the difference, but if you're in a game where exploiting weak habits matters, having that real-time data feels like a concrete edge.

Not essential for playing but how the hell is one going to do serious studying without doing hand reviews using a HUD? They aren't.

While I have mine running while playing I rarely ever bother looking at and using it during play. It's running to get the hands so I can review them later. Reviewing hands is my only form of studying.

I play on sites that allow HUD's and have been a winning player. I have played on sites that don't allow HUD's and and been a winning player.

It amazes players spend 100's and 1000's dollars on books, courses, solvers and everything else.....but then are too dam cheap/stupid to spend $60-$80 on the best tool and only tool that makes it easy to study.

I agree with the answers above ... and for example GGpoker has a good enough integrated HUD , free and easy to use by everyone , with sufficient information

Over the years, I’ve managed to develop a very good read on my opponents at the table—whether online or live—which is why I don’t use HUDs.

Poker room policies have significantly reduced HUD usage.

i have never used one, and i dont know how it will help you if you know the basics
