PokerNotesPro is a normal Windows tool designed to help online poker players organize and use their manual notes more effectively.

It lets you keep detailed notes by street and displays your notes next to the relevant player while you play, making your previous observations easier to see when you face that player again.

It can be used as a standalone tool or alongside your existing HUD.

PokerNotesPro does not access poker site information, hand histories, or poker client game data. It also does not display HUD statistics such as VPIP, PFR, or other HUD stats.

If you are interested in taking a closer look, you can find more information here:

I tried per-opponent notes for a while and dropped them. Mine turned into one-word labels that meant nothing at the table. What stuck was noting my own doubt per hand, one line on why I wasn't sure. For a street-by-street tool like this, can you search the notes by street, or only browse them per player?

If I understand your question correctly, you're asking whether you can search for notes by street. In PokerNotesPro, each opponent's notes are displayed next to their name, and you can click the street tabs to view that player's notes for preflop, flop, turn, or river. You can access them directly without having to search for them manually.

To take notes quickly during a session, I use simple abbreviations and keep them consistent. This allows me to record an action in a few seconds without writing a complete sentence.

Actions:

  • AI = All-In
  • B = Bet
  • BLF = Bluff
  • C = Call Raise
  • 3B = 3-Bet Preflop
  • 3BS = 3-Bet from Blind vs. Steal
  • C3B = Call 3-Bet
  • C3BS = Call 3-Bet vs. 3-Bet Steal
  • C4B = Call 4-Bet
  • CAI = Call All-In Preflop
  • Call = Call
  • CB = Continuation Bet
  • Chk = Check
  • CHKR = Check-Raise
  • DB = Donk Bet
  • DBS = Defend Blind Steal
  • LP = Limp
  • NCB = No Continuation Bet
  • R = Raise Preflop
  • RS = Small Raise
  • STB = Blind Steal (Button, Cutoff, or Small Blind)
Positions:

  • B = Blinds
  • BB = Big Blind
  • But = Button
  • EP = Early Position
  • LP = Late Position
  • MP = Middle Position
  • Null = Unknown Position
  • SB = Small Blind

The goal is simply to combine position + action + situation to create a short but sufficiently precise note that helps you quickly recall a player's tendencies.

Preflop Note-Taking: What Information Is Actually Useful?

Hello everyone,

In poker, information about an opponent’s preflop tendencies can be very useful when you encounter them at another table. The key is to record specific actions and the hands you observe, rather than relying only on general statistics.

Here are some examples of useful information to keep track of:

-Raises by position: Which hands does a player raise with from the button, cutoff, middle position, or early position? Their ranges can vary considerably depending on their position.

-3-bets: Which hands does the player use to re-raise? Do they 3-bet only with strong hands like AA, KK, and AK, or have you also observed hands like A5s or broadways?

-Calling a 3-bet: Which hands does the player continue with after opening and then calling a 3-bet? Pay particular attention to observed pocket pairs, suited connectors, and broadway hands.

- Preflop all-ins: Which hands does the player shove with? It is useful to distinguish between different situations, such as a short-stack shove, a 4-bet shove, or calling an all-in.
- Calling an open raise: Which hands does the player call with, and from which positions? This helps identify their calling tendencies and the hands they prefer to play without re-raising.

Why record exact hands?

A general statistic doesn't always tell the whole story. Knowing that an opponent 3-bets 8% of their hands is useful, but knowing that their observed 3-bets include AQs, TT, and AK can be much more actionable in certain situations.

Of course, a few observations aren't enough to establish a definitive range. You need to consider the number of hands observed and the context of each situation.

PokerNotesPro is a simple manual note-taking tool. It does not access poker game data or hand histories, and it does not automatically collect statistics. You record your own observations and organize them by player and street, making it easier to find useful information during a session.

The software displays your notes in a separate window next to the players and can be used on its own or alongside a HUD.

I'm attaching a screenshot to show how the notes are displayed.
