There is already enough sports on television and the quality of play isn't as good so I don't see how this was every going to take off especially during the warmer parts of the year where more people go outside to enjoy the weather.

Did you watch any of it? Kind of sounds like you've either only heard highlights or you saw one bad game. Quality of play? They aren't NFL stars , It's like Minor League football or that of College minus all the 72 flags for stupid stuff. It was actually really enjoyable to watch , because everybody was playing super hard because they want that ticket to the NFL. It was something else to watch to get by through the season.

Heard that it died, and that they lost 70 million dollars in the process.

I'm bummed that Tom Dundon killed the league. Supposedly, he was in it only to get the AAF's betting technology.

I watched pretty much every game. They had a good product. Having to go for 2 after a TD, 4th and 12 on your own 28 for an onside kick, and less commercials was great. I know it's tough to make money on the first year, and the league was losing money. But...a lot of people liked the league and they were on a good trajectory to being a feeder league to the NFL.

They would've added more teams, had more tv viewers and ticket/merchandise sales, and more fans. Unfortunately, it just wasn't meant to be. We will just have to wait for the new XFL to get here next year!
