i dont want anyone to get angry but im asking a serious question. is cricket really a sport? i dont understand the fun in standing for three days in a field and maybe having to catch one ball all that time.

and b second question, does any other country care about or even know what the ashes are apart from england and Oz? ps not tryin to stirr controversy here, serious questions from a intrigued irishman

In response to your first question,of coarse you don't understand!!!Your Irish aren't you? 😛
How the f*** would anyone from Ireland,(not ireland) understand anything about sport, when your cuntry's national sport is......wait for it........Hurling!!!!😱 😱
Yes, that well known, world wide sport called....Hurling.😱 😱
There must be at least 363 poeple in the whole world that play Hurling!!
Poeple who read this post, will now be Googling up,Hurling, wondering WTF it is.
Scorpion, and Tarantula stamping is more popular than Hurling.🙂
And of coarse, we believe your not trying to stir things up. 😉

In fairness, tarantula stamping is a great sport
lol,
I'm sure it is!
Don't tell the Midget though,or he will be off to his nearest JJB Sports shop, asking for the newest Tarantula foot stamping footwear 😉

I read your whole post and thought it was curling, then I thought something was wrong so I read it again. Oh, hurling. Yea I had to google that. Looks kinda like lacrosse.

Last year with the problems with the Icelandic volcano, heard an Australian say the Whinging Poms are never satisfied, moan when they get the Ashes and moan when they don't.

Q. What do you call an Australian that gets a 4 then a 6 and then another 4?

A. Crap at darts as well.

To be honest i think this is probably the best England team ive seen in 30 years of following the game, and i think the series averages really show what a huge difference in performances there has been.

It is not the worst Australia side ive seen, Watson, Siddle and Clarke
I agree the England team played well all series, they had us on the backfoot for most of the series, Well Done England.

Well if you read the whole thread you would have seen a post from a member from India, and there are lots of other cricket playing nations that know what the Ashes are.

I'm from Ireland and I think what your man is saying is rubbish of course cricket is a sport.
But if hurling is our national sport why any time Ireland produce a talented cricketer does England rob them sure how would they know cricket if all they do is hurling and you must know what hurling is to mention it don't get me wrong i think the sports a a joke but these sports are not professional like yours of course

How do you know another plane load of pommies have arrived in Australia?

You can still hear the whining after the engines have stopped.

What do you call an aussie with 100 runs to his name?

A bowler!!

Lol we can make these jokes now with their current team, but oh man 10 years ago nobody could even touch em. The only other team in history that could've beat that team is the West Indies team in their glory days.

God I miss the ages when there was one dominating Test team leagues ahead of everybody else. I guess the even teams nowadays are exciting too though...
