For me the video game is a fleeting fun because I don't like poker that involves you and you always want to play and if possible to win I like poker a lot and it's a game of spending time without profit in my case

В последние годы мы увидели, что многие видеоигры считаются киберспортивными, например, cs.go, League of Legends, Dota. Считаете ли вы эти игры электронным спортом? Для меня это нельзя назвать спортом, если оно не требует физических усилий.
I fully agree with you. I don't even understand how you can call this a sport...

I think they are sports, because the games are competitive, the players dedicate part of their lives to the game, there is training, study and psychology, and with each passing day the matches are more contested. It's also good to play and watch.

In recent years we have seen that many video games are considered E-sport titles such as cs.go, league of legends, dota. Do you consider these games an electronic sport? For me it cannot be called a sport if it does not require physical effort.
Go play rocket league

The Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) defines the word sport as a "physical activity, exercised as a game or competition, the practice of which involves training and subjection to rules.

In car games, where you play with steering wheel and pedals, you could almost call it a sport, because car racers use these too (obviously they're not the same, but the controls are actually similar). By the way, video games can't be considered a sport for me.

I have the same opinion, I don't consider these games to be sports either.

Want me to throw together a quick comparison chart between esports, chess, and traditional sports so you can see where they overlap and where they differ?

Guys, while I recognize the effort of this generation, I don't consider it a sport, neither physical nor mental.

Most video games no. However there are exceptions and the top one I can think of is one I play and have played and that's Iracing. Why Iracing? Cause there is almost no other game I can think of where I can go out and play/race against some of the best drivers in the real world. I have raced against real life Nascar Cup Champions, I've raced against real life World of Outlaw champions, I've raced Indy Car champions and I've raced against F1 champions. As for the physical part there's full length races just like and as long as real life races. Anyone wanna try sitting 5-6+ hours and racing Charoltte Motor speedway in a 600 mile race? Anyone wanna try being on a team of 2-4 racers and racing a 24 road race like Daytona 24 hours(a real race btw)? I promise you it's very physically and mentally draining most wouldn't last 10-20 mins without crashing or just being done.

99% of video games thou are a just a hobby and for fun and don't offer what Iracing does.

Cheers!!!

It's hard for me to call it a sport, although I must admit that every day that passes it becomes more professional and they must be up to the task. I went from being fun to being a way of life and a way of earning money, in other words like POKER

If we take the physical element of traditional sports into consideration, then no. But regardless of the classification, the professionalism, audience, and financial impact of eSports are undeniable.

No I don't think it is a sport, but I do believe it still requires skill like in other disciplines to be the very good at the games.

The same kind of sport as snooker, darts, chess, bridge, etc.
It is just a matter of definition - if we consider sport a phisycal activity, then ofc the above are not sports. If we consider sport an acivity where you compete against others according to some defined rules then these all are sports.

id have to disagree with anybody who claims these video games are a sport, i get that training as a team or individual and alot of similarities can arise with sports, idk i just have a hard time myself in claiming it as a sport.
