Connor Murphy is a huge piece to add as he does what we don't do well ...defence ..plus it moves walman back to his natural side

Murphy was a big pick-up, they got to get a goalie, the team has no confidence in their goaltending ,it wont matter who else they get if they dont fix that 1st,if your a player in that room you got to be nervous waiting for who is getting shipped out:(

Ingram I'd say they do ...Jarry it's at a minus level and that's disturbing paying a guy 5 million and the players around him don't trust him ...he needs a solid run in the past 20 with the new players from ahl and whatever other trades happen ..Ingram has been calming back there even in games he gets ves up goals like past night ..he didn't stop fighting and we came back and won ..and the goals weren't on him it was massive breakdowns and puck watching

This is the first time in the 107-year history of the NHL that defensemen on the same team have scored 3+ goals in two consecutive games. This fantastic result demonstrated the incredible offensive prowess of Edmonton's defensive line in January 2026.

Think it was a salary dump,do not ever like giving up a 1st round pick, not to sure about this one, break even at best, leaning towards losing this one in the long run, have to wait and see who the pick is:unsure:

Now if they could display that type of prowess in the defensive end they would have a Cup contender:D

Yeah we didn't so great ok n this one unless the 23 year old turns into a good player ..if not it's a break even ,let's see if a new mix of players situation works ...the centre dickson is hard to play against so it is what we need I suppose as we get nothing out of Adam henrique on both ends of the ice

At current prices this TDL it's a fine trade not great, not terrible just fine. Dickson is one of the very best defensive forwards in the league this season and will help greatly in keeping pucks outta of own net. Same with the Murphy trade he's just what the Oilers need to on defense. A guy who plays rough, tough, physical and who will clear the front of the net. As for Dach he can sent down without waivers and with Lazar on LTIR that's another almost 2.3m in cap space for another trade/deal today if Bowman can pull one off.

Oiler fan since the early 80's here.

Cheers!!!

those moves should help tighten them up,think it is all for nothing if they cant get a goalie, the 2 you got are not going to be good enough, going to be real hard to pull that rabbit out of the hat and what would they have to give up to get someone,if I was them and the price is not to high is Billington, terrible numbers but is kinda like Grant Fuhr ,comes up big when the chips are down and with what is available might make a good fit, sure hope them and the Canadians make some deals that solidify them,Thomas sure would look good in a Canadian jersey:D

Yeah I don't feel it's quite enough either even if both players work out perfect. They'll likely be no deal with the Blue while Armstrong is GM. Bowman and Armstrong hate each other and honestly even if they didn't Binner isn't helping Edm. In fact Binner is kinda a head case and the Edm market will likely break him mentally.

A think another goalie deal will have to wait for the off season sadly. Which I would also kind of expect a Nurse trade then as well. Local media lately has been calling out and getting on Nurse more and more. And when it comes to a player like Nurse local media doesn't and would never say shit about such a player until that player is on their way out the door or gone already. Local media has a 25+ year history of this behavior when it comes to certain players.

Cheers!!!

Agree the Avs are going to be a pretty tough out with this move. Not that they weren't already a very solid team.

On another note but a Canadian team....I'm surprised Montreal decided not to do a dam thing.

Cheers!!!

Winners at the deadline had to be the Avalanche , like the Schenn move to the Islanders ,they are going to be a handful, they have maybe the best goaltending, thought Montreal should have done something that was disappointing same with Ottawa tho dont think their going anywhere,Carolina also missed the boat,as it stands now I think baring some injuries think it will be a Tampa- Colorada Cup Final:)

Agree the winners have to be the Avs and I yeah I also liked the NYI's move in getting Schenn he should be a good fit for the NYI's.

I would have done something with my goaltending if I was Montreal. Although I personally don't have any interest in most the goalies available.......Minny did have Wallstedt on offer for a top 6 forward. If I was Montreal I'd got it done for him. He might not have been the answer this season exactly but he's going to be elite is already solid and has his whole career left in front of him so he fits your young core perfect. Just such a missed chance for Montreal.

Yeah a few teams in the East missed the boat for sure.

Cheers!!!

I thought Jarry played alright, couple of iffy ones, played a great 2nd period, what was worse was the 0 shots on goal the last 8 minutes of the game for them, how does that happen?

Yeah Jarry played ok. Couple iffy ones, Nurse screened him twice. The rest of the team was pretty much embarrassing. I did like both how both Dickinson and Murphy played.

On avg that 3rd line with Dickinson centering it looked ok but it needs to play 12-15mins a game not just 9 mins.

Cheers!!!
