England has the potential to cause a few upsets, IF they let some of the youngsters have a go.

Sterling, Barkley, Chamberlain - all exciting players with pace who can cause problems for any team.

Don't rate Smalling at all - if he didn't play for ManU he wouldn't be close to the squad.

Team against Italy should be

Hart
Jones (Johnson isn't good enough)
Jagielka
Cahill
Baines
Gerrard
Wilshere
Lallana
Rooney
Chamberlain
Sturridge


Lallana & Chamberlain on the flanks, Rooney central, Sturridge up top, Wilshere & Gerrard keeping the middle secure.

Subs: Foster, Sterling, Barkley, Lampard, Milner, Shaw, Lambert

If we need a goal, get Sterling & Lambert on. If we're ahead, get Lampard & Milner on to tighten it up.
 
Many players with injuries like Falcao Garcia (Colombia), Luis Montes (Mexico),
Montolivo (Italy), Ribery (France) - this players who will not be in the Cup.

In addition to these Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) and Marco Reus (Germany) in bad condition.

I think this year will be good for Latin countries and USA if not so we'll see the results

The USA team seems to be coming together pretty well.

I think they can take care of Ghana - maybe 2-1.
 
can't Waite come on england------not much expectation, but if they get it together it could be a good tournament, the first game for england is at 11pm vs Italy, would love to see england beat them but just a draw would be sweet, but our next game is against Uruguay just hope Suarez is off form lol,

as i have no expectations that england will go far, it could be a surprise if they do lol, my money is on Brazil or Argentina to lift the trophy
 
Spain, Germany and Brazil here seems to me to be the main contenders for the Cup.

Hopefully there will be a Germany vs Spain final <3

But I also want Belgium to reach atleast the Semis! if not the finals.. although chances of that happening are not that high.
 
Italy take it down
or Argentina!

PS: no big fans that Brazil won the world cup! Too many players without Worldcup experience and under high pressure playing as host!

My thinking exactly. Just finished a blind draw pool and wound up with Croatia and France....sucks but they have an outside shot. Would rather have them than England.

And yes, I'm as English as we get!

I'm with you - France are a decent outsider....much better bet than England....unless they play the kids and they take it by storm. England won't have any chance if they play too conservatively. They need to go for it 100% or go home.

they play too polite...not that aggressive than I expected esp Brazil.
 
croatia have been robbed this game, that was never a penalty!
 
and the the combat with the goal keeper.
think that is a normal combat... not a fail.

but congrats to Brazil in advance.
They play better than Croatia, Brazil deserves this win!

This year will mark history as Colombia will reach the final against Germany so do not make different bets as these lose their money
 
Netherlands plays a great match against Spain.

think Spain makes too many mistakes during the games.
 
Imagine how bad the opening ceremony would have been if there wasn't a sound problem and we'd had to suffer hearing Pitbull sing?

heh.. Spain got raped by the dutch.. xD didn't expect that at all.. was probably thinking how many goals the spain will win with..
