It seemed very fair that Modric won that prize ... he made a great football year being very influential in his team Real Madrid ... as he was also for his national team of Croatia ..! and very bad Cristiano's attitude of not attending the awards ..!

After 10 years, the streak has been broken. This was a consolation prize to break the hegemony of Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi. The numbers prove: Only five goals and 11 assists in 59 games.

the only reason they gave it to modric is because of how he carried croatia in the world cup and because he won the champions with real madrid. It was clearly more of a tournament value decision but obviously the best player in the world is currently messi

I agree. The run Croatia had helped him a lot to win the award.

He deserved it , he played very well on last World Cup. Not to mention that Croatia reached 2nd place there , best ever in Croatian football ever !

Until now, disappointed that the Golden Ball gave Modrich. If at one time such players as Xavi, Iniesta, Pirlo remained without reward. Modric below their class
