Interesting line decisions for game one ..nice to see dickinson back ...not a fan of henrique the past few years but he is worth giving the start to on the fourth line over the rookie samanski as he can be put in at anytime if it doesn't go well ...I would have liked to see Howard stay up with the big team as he is a game breaker even if he was in the press box most games . Let's get off to a big start in game 1

McDavid is laboring with some sort of ankle injury ,there playing so lose on defence reminds me of their mid season woes, their in big trouble unless they can flip the switch tonight, I sure hope so but the Ducks are having a big say in that

Frustrating game once again they just can't win or really compete in a second period..same deal ,all season . Would be nice to see them play a complete game tonight because then we will win ...but there is so many questions marks on this squad ..it doesn't look good but I still say somehow some way they get a W and take it back to Anaheim

Yah that was a tough one. I've got a bet on Edmonton tonight as part of a parlay to pick up 2x $11 Spins tickets. It already gave me the two tickets... lost on both of them... both to terrible suckouts, lol. Let's hope the game isn't the same as my Spins games.

You getting your spins , we're the better team and haven't shown it for 60mins yet I feel like one game that should happen ..we probably pissed away the series but I feel a win for you and in general tonight ...kinda cool pokerstars? I'm assuming doing something like that

For me the following changes:
1) New coach and all new staff except for Coffey if he wants the job he likely doesn't as Katz pretty much forced him to come back during the season to help change things. It's obvious by the end of Oct.....backed up by the end of Nov, end Dec, end of Jan and of Feb TOI. Coach wasn't smart enough to limit the TOI of his best players after 2 seasons of going to back to back cup Finals and having Olympic games to play this season. Coach only wants to run 3 lines. NHL teams are 4 lines deep. This makes injuries more likely to occur and they did. Coach doesn't have the brains of a half dead egg plant.

2) GM. Comes down to the same reason. Egg plant brain. Really no different then 90% of the hires the last 20+ years. Egg plant brains. New pro scouts. Hell I wouldn't even consider the POHO safe. He had a big hand in hiring all these clowns.

3) Players who need to be gone: Nurse, Jarry and likely Ekholm. Getting old sucks he doesn't have it anymore but TBF playing him too much I'm sure hurt him. Still gotta ask and figure out how much is left in his tank career wise.

4) Players I'd bring back. Murphy, Dickinson, Dach(RFA) and Kapanen.

5) FA I'm not bringing back: Henique, Roslovic and Pickford.

6) Goaltending: I'd bring Ingram back as a backup ONLY if we get a real NHL 45-50+ game starting goalie. If we don't get this just sell the whole ****ing team and move it IDC and won't be watching a single second of Oiler hockey next season if we don't get a real NHL starting goalie.

Hoping Buffalo wins the Cup now as I can really relate to Buffalo fans after the last 25+ years of Oilers.

Cheers!!!

Love to know what is going on in McDavid's head, I don't think there is a 50 game goalie anymore, tandem is the best way to go just because of injuries, still cheering for the Habs as there Canada's last chance, still there is a ton of great hockey to be played, lots of good series to watch, lots of ex- London Knights players still in the hunt for the Cup so I always have someone to cheer for ,even the Worm

Personally I think Montreal will be the next Canadian team to win a Cup....maybe and likely not this season but man that young core is only going to improve. I will watching them as well as Buffalo the rest of the playoffs.

Just had a look 19 goalies played 50+ games this season. Personally come playoff time I don't wanna be messing with a 1a and 1b tandem and just guess which one going to play best from game to game. Need a #1 NHL starting goalie full stop. There have been some rumors about Cossa the young goalie outta Detroit but idk why Detroit would even considering moving him. Also there were rumors about Wallstedt from Minny....again no idea why Minny would do that. Idk most NHL GM's aren't seemingly bright :ROFLMAO:

Going to be an interesting Oiler off season o I guess we wait and see what happens......

Cheers!!!

I agree in the playoffs you want a #1 but to get there you need 2 ,I havnt looked but how many wins do you need to make playoofs, my guess is 40 plus ,so you need 30 wins from 1 and at least 10 from the other,I would think the number of starts for a number 1 would be around 45 to 50,and out of the 19 that started 50 how many were 500 not a lot of true number 1s out there if you ask me,Ingram doesnt seem so bad

Ingram is good backup who can win you games....don't how much stock I'd put in our playoffs this year considering 2 back to back Final runs and our best players also playing the Olympics. With EVERYONE basically exhausted to the point of making injuries being a lot easier. I think an Oilers team without so many games played and TOI this season we'd easily handle the Ducks and get to a Western Conference Finals but who knows. Just avg goaltending in the playoffs a rested and avg injury NHL Oiler team goes to the Finals again this season. The Oilers have NEVER gotten avg NHL goaltending come playoff time or goalies numbers are always the worst or near the bottom of playoff goalies. This year I feel the team overall as a unit dragged the goalie numbers down.

I honestly don't know the answer to most your goalie questions.....Ironically Stu Skinner was the last goalie to play 50 games this season :ROFLMAO:. So no not all them had winning records or even .500 avg in games won. If I had to guess I'd say maybe 10-15 were above .500. I think your 30 wins from a number one is a good target.

Grok says over the last 5 years it takes 90-100+ points to make the NHL playoffs. The Bettman loser point really mess up how many win you need in this whole equation thou. Makes it hard to figure. 30 win from started and 10 or so from the back sounds about right or near enough for me so I can't disgaree with you too much on it.

One last thought on goalies thou a lot of them voodoo except for the truly elite ones which there's maybe 5 in the whole league. I expect a lot of goalies on the move this off season as there's not a lot of UFA goalies this season. The Oilers gotta get a solid NHL starting goalie. Don't need an elite one.

Not sure who all my targets for a goalie would be. I'd be calling about Cossa and Wally(Minny) for sure. Also I'd calling about a goalie is Ottawa....Ullmark isn't looking very happy right now and big changes are coming to Ottawa. At least Brady "the Turttle" is leaving. So that's 3 goalie targets right there already.

Cheers!!!

Must be a pretty good team to make the Houston Oilers change their name to the Texans. Or maybe they just thought their name was a little crude?

Thoughts on if the coach should be gone ? I'd only say yes if Tampa dumps their coach ..if not I wouldnt 3 playoffs straight is still that but he surely needs to get better in areas ..especially fire behind the bench and usage of players ..young ones especially.

To many changes all at once rarely works in pro sports ..however never wanted bowman even remotely so I'd be fine with him out .
