The fact Portugal have won this has made uefa's new 24 team format look ridiculous. Portugal had to qualify for the euros via the play offs so they were lucky to get there from the start.
Then they only finished 3rd in a weak group containing Austria, Hungary and Iceland drawing all 3 games. Then in the 4 other games they played, the only team they beat in 90 minutes was Wales. So they have won the tournament despite winning one game out of 7 in 90 mins. Surely this makes them one of the weakest teams ever to win a major football tournament.
 
I cant disagree more. It doesnt matter if you get there via play offs, and if you are lucky to finish at third and qualify as well. If you win without referee help then you deserve it

They didnt loose a single game, and especially in the final without CR7 they proved to be a strong team
 
But what about the Greeks in 2004, the Danes in 1992? This proves that the weak teams in football, no! It was lucky for them the final in 2004 when they were to be champions!

I agree, Portugal is like Greece 2004. but Denmark played good football.
 
Yes Denmark play good football, but they came by chance on the championship instead of Yugoslavia
 
This often happens in football. One of the only sports where the team may be weaker, play worse during the game and still beat a great team.

For these and others football is amazing. It is unpredictable.

Portugal did not qualified due playoffs. with that statament we all know how much you know about football.
Portugal was a good winner. In the past they played great football and what that gave them?nothing!They achived 2 semi finals of and euro and world cup. Since 2000 they are the country with more quarter finals and beyond that.
It was a great win and you must know the difference between play football and play just with a "ball"
 
It was very interesting to watch the development of events in the final of Euro.. the Most interesting thing started after the grass Cristiano Ronaldo.. I always knew they would play better without him
 
maybe but without their captain they show they were a team and not just some random players together
 
I did not understand how they were able to win, Ronaldo deserved this trophy in his art collection
