And why do you think is that? Maybe it's thanks to our players. We managed to establish a game on the field that suits us.
I knew even before the match what we had to do to get past Brazil, but honestly I was skeptical that we would succeed for two reasons.
The first reason is that we are no longer as strong as we were 4 years ago in Russia, many players who played in the first lineup said goodbye to the Croatian national team (Rakitić, Mandžukić, Rebić, Vrsaljko, Vida, Strinić...half of the first lineup literally), and the second is that Brazil has a really strong team this year.
Brazil was better in the second half, created more chances, which was to be expected.
I read the comments that Brazil played badly and I can't agree with that. The Brazilian players really wanted to win the World Cup this year and they did their best and were actually good. You played against an opponent who did not allow you to play your game, and that's it. I don't think there are many teams that can do that against Brazil and to my surprise we did it.
Against Serbia and South Korea you showed how good you can play football and it was a real pleasure to watch that art. I wish you better luck in the next World Cup...unless you come across us again 😊
And as for the semi-final duel against Argentina. At the last World Cup in Russia, we beat them 3-0 quite easily, but I will say it again, we are not as strong as we were back than, but I still believe in our victory.
Hello brother.
You're right, Brazil played very well but he didn't know how to defend when he had to.
Croatia is not the 2018 Selection, but it is still an orderly and dangerous selection.
Being an Argentine, I love and sympathize with Croatia because one of my idols was Davor Suker, that Croatia also played very good soccer.
The 3-0 win over Argentina in 2018 was in another context. The Argentine team was unarmed, the players did not accept the coach on duty and that's how it went. Not only did Croatia thrash us, but we came back in the round of 16.
I think this will be another game. Argentina came from an unbeaten record of 40 games including the victory against Brazil in the Copa America.
The game against Arabia was a very hard blow for us, but this is a strong group and they knew how to recover.
The match against the Netherlands had other seasonings. I think coach Van Gaal unnecessarily warmed up the entire preview with his statements and after losing 2-0 he put player No. 19 to warm up the game to see if it could be tied. In the definition of penalties there are many images that every time an Argentine player was going to kick, 3 or 4 players from the Netherlands would rebuke them.
That is what Van Gaal is, a dictator who never won anything with the Netherlands and thus went back home chewing anger without acknowledging his own mistakes. A character in which players like Modric, Messi, Rivaldo, Ronaldhino, Neymar, or other skilled players would never play in his teams, because he wants Robot players and the players are not robots, some are more skilled players, others less.
I am very surprised by this gentleman who calls himself a coach, because having had players like Neeskens, Cruyff, Reikjard, Gullit, Van Basten, Berkramp and others, gentlemen players with very good standing, their teams play so horribly.
I respect my Croatian brothers a lot, and I hope it will be a very good game. I also have a lot of confidence in our team and I hope the best or the one who does things best wins.
My regards, brother.
