Game is a $8.8 Mystery Bounty MTT on ACR Poker. Opponent is an unknown (less than 10 hands on my HUD). Its very early in the game, so the bounties are not yet active, and we are still far from the money. Can you find a fold here with or without the backdoor flushdraw, which I picked up?

I would lean towards folding this as it is early in the game and it's not really worth stacking off against a potential full house

Lots of people like to play overpairs that way because they are scared of getting outdrawn. I would probably put him on a strong 9 like A9 or that mentioned overpair and make the call.

Certainly not going to defend my bb to a button open and then fold trips to those specific bets on that board. That turn overshove is basically never a full house in my experience.

I also think this is unlikely to be a full house, so maybe overpair, or A9, could also be A4 overworried about the flush draw, but less likely.

Probably need to call this especially as you still have 20 bbs left if you lose.

However the way you write, 'can you find a fold' is making me think this guy does have the Boat

These hands are why we have bankroll. It makes no practical sense for the Villain to choose these sizes with the nuts-therefore we have to call.
Picking up the flush draw does not matter as the 2.5x pot shove should include the nuts which is 99 55 54- all boats.
There is no way for you to be able to reason out a nut jam only play on the turn. Your actions- the board interactions none of it suggest that jamming the nuts is the most profitable play.

the only hand that the flush draw helps you against is the A4 combos

This deep and with no bounties in play, I'm only making this call with pocket 44. (maybe A4 but not likely). It's just not worth picking up 50bb's at this stage with a hand that is typically the best.
Fold and wait for a better spot! Could easily be an American micro crusher... I mean this is from the weekend on ACR am I right?

I think it was a mistake to call pre-flop, but once you get the miracle flop how do you fold ? If he shows you A-4. 5-5, 9-9, oh well... that's poker... no way I fold here...

But as others have said, is a full house really played this way? We also lose to A4 of course.

Yeah could be AA or KK overplayed, or A4 scared to get outdrawn.

It definitely makes no sense to play a boat like this, since he is in position, so he can always put the rest of his chips in on the river. And when we have a boat, our opponent is usually drawing dead or maybe to a few outs, so we want them to continue and ideally catch up to a second best hand like for instance a flush or straight. On the other hand there are some people, who are so bad at poker, that they dont think about the best way to get paid, when they have the nuts. Or maybe they think, an overjam looks bluffy and will get hero called.

I might have been trolling there a little bit :)

Yeah I dont think, it matter all that much either.

Yes it was saturday evening US time. Early morning european time, since I often wake up early and play, while my family still sleep. Not sure he is a "crusher" though. If he was a regular on the site, I would likely have much more than 10 hands on him on my HUD.

I think, its kind of standard to defend almost any suited hand to a BTN raise. Maybe it can be argued, that this was a slightly larger than normal raise. I did briefly consider folding but decided, that it was still a call.

Neither did I and time to reveal the result:
