In the end, he got eliminated early because of his own arroganceID 1791993648

He had top pair until river and he caught your bluff. Looks like you are angry about that.

Eventually it's a freeroll, so you'll see a lot of weird plays...

At the river there's K but he's still not scared?

he will pay the price if he hits like that, and in reality, he still stubbornly carried on in the next round before stopping

I’ve played the Main Event but never made it to the final table. I really want to win the championship just once. It’s so frustrating to get a good hand, only to run into an opponent with an even better one.

You've made a lot of posts about these bad beat type situations. You're looking at his play here and thinking why is he not scared. You should actually be thinking how do I beat this type of opponent, not why is he not doing what I want him to.

The thing is you're expecting players to think in a freeroll.....this just isn't necessarily going to happen, so you just thinking you can bluff bluff bluff, and he should fold is actually YOUR poor play. You are failing to recognise that players will get sticky with a mediocre hand, they will call 3 barrels, and this means you have to adjust your game to them.....otherwise they are beating you....

So, do you want to know what you need to do. one simple rule.....never ever bluff again vs these types of players. Ever!! Assume all freerollers/microstakes player are these players until you see otherwise.

To beat poor passive players, you have to value bet big when youhave a good hand and or hit the flop hard, If you do C bet with air and get called, slow down, see what happens on the turn....try only c betting with a semi bluff....

Try a delayed c bet on the turn, if they call, they almost certainy have you beaten and you can stop putting chips in.

Look at your own play..... what is the point of the min 3 bet with a fairly weak hand, what are you trying to achieve?
He will almost certainly call that bet. You're out of position and 3 bet bluffing, so you want to go bigger than 3X to try and take the pot down pre flop. Certainly not minimum and force yourself to play a 3 bet pot OOP.

But finally, why are you assuming he's arrogant?? This kind of feeling is pointless at the poker table. Focus on style of play, not perceived attitude. Maybe he's just having fun clicking buttons in a freeroll, and why not....its his choice!

2nd finally....😉 you will get better at poker if you can learn to take the beats as part of the game, this allows you to improve through analysis of how you yoyrself played, rather than focusing on everyone elses play, and why that was wrong. You can't change them but you can change yourself, and your personal reactions.

Let me know if any of this helps. 🙂

Can a GTO strategy be used against novice players? Sometimes they’ll call all the way down with just a small pair—or even go all-in.

K does hit your 3-bet pre range but that's about all that you have here. The draws have all busted and the only 3x in your opening range is maybe 33 and there is only 1 combo of that on the turn. 2nd pair is not a bad call here.

I think that the bigger question is what are we doing 3-betting min out of position with A5s??
