I keep my stack in chips so I know where I am in the tournament. But in situations where you need to calculate the size of the bets or situations when you need to go all-in, I transfer the stack to blinds.

The stack is always in chips. On 888 it is easy to switch to BB, and I saw that everyone has so little BB that it is not interesting. So I continue to play with chips.
BB this is more of a tribute to fashion, because the teaching material is now being brought to BB.

I switch between BB and Chip viewer depending on the situation. On one site does not have ability to display BB so that I don't have issue switching back to chip on the site support BB view.

Now I keep the stack in bb, it is much more convenient for me to play this way. But on the other hand, I understand that in an offline game it is much more difficult now to count in chips. I don't even know what to do next, maybe I can switch to chips again

I always play by blinds so its a no brainer for me - also good to see what people are shoving in comparison to the stage of the tourney.

I prefer playing with the number of chips on view. Sometimes I accidentally switch to BB view and because I don’t like it I immediately go back to the number of chips.

Usually in tournaments I exchange my stack for the number of big blinds. This is more comfortable.

I switch between $$ and BB.

The later in the tourney, I like to keep track of my "M" to better figure out my range of hands to play

I always like it as chip view instead of bb view. I like to adjust my bet sizing using chip view. BB view is nice to keep track in terms of how much of a lead or trail in a tournament.

I always like to know how many chips I have when playing in a tournament. I’m so used to a chip count instead of a blind count.

I prefer to use actual chip count for normal play - early levels and even later in the tournament when I have a big stack. In these situations, the only thing I care about is "who do I have covered" or "who has me covered". There's no difference in my play whether I have 50 big blinds, 75 or 100 or more. I don't like to see the big blind numbers, I can easily tell when opponents are getting short (which should change how they play but I don't care much about that if I have them covered).

However, when I get short-stacked, then I much prefer to use Big Blinds because it becomes critical to do one thing at 30 bigs, another thing at 20 bigs, still another at 15 bigs and when we get to 10 bigs or less there's really only "shove or fold" at that point. So I generally switch over when I detect I'm beginning to get short because now every blind I have becomes critical to my strategy, just a few big blinds can dramatically change how I approach the hand.

So I use both and this method works perfectly for me. When I play on a site such as BetOnline which doesn't have the option to switch, I have to do the math in my head and that makes it a bit more difficult... plus, BetOnline does not offer very large time banks, at least at my micro level... doing more math leaves me less time to think about my play, so its a bit frustrating... and they also offer no hand histories either, for reviewing our play afterwards... so get your act together BetOnline, get with the times, get with the program!!

I pretty much play the same.

As far as switching to Big Blinds at BetOnLine, at your table,
Click on the options icon, top right.
Highlight "tables" on the left,
You should see an option to "Convert chips to BB"
Click in the Tournament box, then OK

Not as easy as ACR, but, only takes about 3 seconds

If you want to develop in poker, then yes you are developing a bad habit. Even if you manually switch you will waste time switching and not thinking.

I would have to disagree, I feel you are merely using all the information available to make your decisions.

Thanks for the BOL advice, natsgrampy!! Much obliged, did not know it was possible.

Syltan's point is entirely fair, I understand what they mean - we don't have an "EASY MODE" button in live tournament play, all the math must be done at the table, in our heads. So it is good practice for live play to NOT use the "show stacks in BB's" feature while playing online. You make an excellent point here, thanks for expressing it.

3 seconds is also enough time for FBI to raid some home in Vernon btw ...
