I play satellites sometimes but usually I'm playing mtt's or sng's. However, I tend to play any NL poker game that I can, to me poker is poker.

I'm not aware of any satellites that pay cash I thought they were only there to be able to qualify for larger tournaments. Am I missing something?

You can also end up paying a lot more in satellites, than you can in actually paying the full buy-in price for the target tournament.

I tend to stay away from them.

I do not like satellites, sometimes there are very few places to prize when an exaggerated number of players is registered and incidentally with rebuys. Much less I like the satellites in which you qualify and you have to play another one and another, when you manage 3 or 4 times to qualify, there you get your free entry to a big tournament.

To play satellite tournaments you have to be very patient, in pokerstars for example, there are satellite tournaments for large games but you have to play up to 5 satellite tournaments to get to the main event, there are other satellite tournaments that cost only a small sum of money and give you Tickets to bigger tournaments, I think these are good to play because if you get to the big tournament and lose, then nothing happens since you only invested a little, on the other hand if you win, you feel satisfied knowing that with little, you could achieve a lot .
