Bounty tournament often makes players call wider, gamble more, n chase knockouts because of the extra Value. Sometimes even normal fold becomes profitable spots in PKOs… so do u think playing too many bounty negatively affect ur regular game? ( for regular bounty players)?

In theory it might be optimal to specialise in a single format, and then I guess, you can say, that playing any other format negatively effect your strategy and discipline in your prefered or main format. But for most people it get extremely limiting and unpractical, if they cant even mix MTTs with or without bounties.

Also PKOs make up such a large percentage of online MTTs these days, that it might make more sense to ask, if playing to many non-bounty tournaments negatively affect your PKO strategy and discipline rather than the opposite. Playing only PKOs as a specialization might make more sense these days than playing only non-bounty tournaments.

It sounds like, you dont really like PKOs, and if that is the case, then dont play them. Its allowed to choose the games, you enjoy the most, without looking for excuses about other games "negatively affecting your strategy and discipline" or there being something wrong with the games, you dont enjoy as much.

I definitely make some dicey calls in PKO MTTs but I wouldn't say I'm a disciplined player to begin with

Hi all , yes I think Bounty games make me deviate (I guess you could say negatively) from my normal game , but I don't think it changes
much , it adds more than it takes away, by this I mean there's more excitement realizing the blinds are about to blind out a player
and now the fight for the bounty starts , I have also been short stacked with another shorter stack to act before me, I couldn't just fold bad
hands without waiting to see if shorty would jam allin or not , haha it adds quite a few layers of strategy, I love it !!
in my opinion , more layers just makes the game more interesting , I say go for it ....booooomm !!
Good luck all, hope to see you at some games , I ft yesterday on acr micro pko , took 6hrs !!!

Yes, I think it definitely can if a player stops adjusting properly between formats. PKOs reward aggression and wider calling ranges because bounty equity changes the EV of many spots. The problem is that some regular bounty players get too used to chasing knockouts and start carrying those loose habits into normal tournaments where survival and chip preservation matter more.
I think strong players understand that bounty value is just another variable, not a reason to ignore fundamentals. If you can separate PKO strategy from standard MTT strategy, bounty tournaments can actually improve your understanding of risk/reward dynamics and stack pressure.

They probably affect me a little, but I still play in a pretty similar way, just a bit more aggressively because of the bounties. Even so, I probably don’t adjust as much as I should. I usually prefer making a deeper run in the tournament rather than risking everything for a small bounty.
