First of all he is entertaining. Second of all if his poker playing is at the level of "idiot", holy crap do I have a long way to go, just to be an idiot ...

While his videos are informative (at least I think so as some people here have mentioned as well) and entertaining. He is running a business. So of course he is attention seeking, he needs to grow his business by exposing himself to as many people as possible. I don't get how that would be a negative - but everyone has their own take on things I guess.

Dude, I could tell you a lot about Monty Hall, but he has a kind of reputation outside the pokerworld, so better take your time to read that instead of posting INTELLIGENT posts

I feel like your trolling, but I’ll take the bait.

First off, Doug Polk is going to go down in the history books. Plus, insulting someone’s intelligence is a sure sign that you have no real argument to back up your accusations.

As far as the Monty Hall problem goes, the parameters of the problem state that the host must always offer the choice to switch doors. With that stipulation, we’re contestants to always switch, it would indeed be GTO to take the switch. Over a large sample they would win 50%.

You obviously have no idea what Doug’s strategy entails as you could never accuse him of not being intelligent. It takes an incredible amount of study and practice to adapt a GTO strategy. Just you claiming that it advocates an “always do x here” strategy shows your ignorance.

Sounds like someone is jealous of the success of a better player. Even if you disagree with Doug on the fundamentals of poker, there’s no way you can justify calling him and idiot. His track record proves his talent as a poker player. He won the one drop last year papa.

Personally I find him hilarious. One of my current favourites. His presentation and jokes (and sometimes controversial standpoint in the poker world) aren’t for everybody I get that, but to call him an idiot is ridiculous...

If you actually listen to his content and gaming advice it’s spot on and a very solid take on the game. He gives well informed details presented so that everyone can understand at almost any level of poker. That is a skill in itself.

Strategy that works for Polk may or may not work for you, but how can you deny his stats and continue to call him an idiot?
