Fold AA PreFlop?

Of course, I can remember I folded pocket AA in a bubble in a pot with 3 people all-in. That was so easy fold, when you have to fold, have to fold, don't invent excuses to make a call that you know you shouldn't do.

I also agree with that, poker is math... The possibility to you win is biggest than you loose with these hands... So pay an all-in pré-flop and close your eyes imagining the best hand for you! haha

On preflop AA is the strongest combination, even when opponents raise in front of you, you should not fold a pair of aces, because in 80% a AA is the strongest combination even on postflop

More than 3 opps is a good fold if u are in a sat, but never in a tour

To my knowledge, I don't think I ever folded AA preflop.

I see a lot of people talk about folding Aces preflop in satties on the bubble; maybe I will consider this if I'm in a similar situation in the future but until then, I'm shoving all day.

You are commiting a crime folding Aces Preflop, even if you wanna ITM. Practically if you wanna make some money, you need to be extra aggresive in the bubble and make a lot of them, because that is the way, you build an enormous stack which can insert you in the FT. We all know that the money goes in about the top 3-5 of a tourney not in the ITM.

Do you Ever Fold AA / KK Pre Flop? (Tourneys)

So i was wondering does anyone else ever fold the two best starting hands in poker AA KK pre flop?

I would never fold these in cash games but tourneys I have been known to occasionally.

I consider getting it in pre flop no better than betting on black or red, its a gamble!

Things to consider are:
How important is the tournament to you?
How close to the money are you?
Are you in the 1st few levels and want a deep run?
Are you close to the finale table?

Some of these are stack size variable, obviously your not folding with large stack sizes and shoving with tiny stacks but if its for your tourney life would you fold your AA KK pre flop to ensure you survive longer?

I mean how many times have your AA KK been cracked?
If you have KK you could be on a 2 outer anyway.

I would honestly prefer to get it in with some big / medium suited connectors with more cards to hit and more hands to be made.

After all your just hoping you cards either hold or hit that 2 outer if behind.

Waiting for a better spot when you know your good post flop is a much safer bet.

So im curious does anyone agree or am i on my own and is it all in every time regardless?

Been folding Kk before in preflop but never Aa just impossible to do that

Of course I threw K K before the flop. When more players are all in. But that's why I never threw AA. It is the strongest departure from all the departures and I do not see the reason why I would throw it.

I only fold AA preflop in satellite bubble situations and very rare regular tournament bubble situations.

Satellites bubble should be obvious but if you have a stack to advance just fold until bubble bursts. Even AA.

Now, if I satty into a huge tournament. Lets say I spend $1 and get into tournament with a $1K min cash. I will fold to get to that min cash.

Regular tournaments I'm not folding AA near a bubble. KK I'm most likely not folding either. I have folded KK once in my poker "career" and it was correct decision but I have to have really strong stats against a villain to do this and even if I do I'm usually never folding KK either.

Queens is the highest hand I ever folded preflop in a tournament.

Not if two players are all-in. If there are more players, unfortunately chances are getting smaller when someone has a different pair and will hit a set

If I look at the last 100 situations that put a pair of aces in my hands, I would say that my pair made me win 60% of the time. It can be said that this is a highly beneficial statistic because there are not many other hands that will make you win as frequently. Note that the plupard of the time I choose to run all-in preflop to reduce the risks.

The situation gets rough when we are deep, and especially, especially when we face several opponents. In this case, you must not start hostilities. . Even if you're the last one to speak and everyone before you were "checked", it's hard to believe that the players will not follow you when they may all have a draw. If you bet, it would be ok for them to follow.

in tourneys you can find spots where it makes sense to fold. Especially when ICM is involved.

An easy example is when you have a tourney that pays 20 tickets and there are 21 players left. If you have an average stack and you get shoved on by a bigger stack there's really no reason for you to call with anything. Just try to wait until the short stack drops out of the tourney to reclaim your ticket. Folding every hand and occassionally minraising to win the pot.

On the flop, I never dropped the card. I think that where tournaments against my AA, KK has been more than 3-4 opponent were freerolls with low levels of the game to them and to me they did not represent value for me. A tournament with Bain I have not seen this big competition hands. But I must say that I lost quite often.

I think Ace party should never be thrown away. If we throw this away, it doesn't make sense to play. We often lose hands, but we can't throw them away. Even in a bubble position.

if you play poker have AA end you fold preflop i think you dont need to play poker....what is point if you fold the strongest preflop hand in holdem

There aren't many situations to fold AA pre-flop. The obvious cases that people have already mentioned are when you are already nearly guaranteed to be ITM or when the next pay jumps are very large. Then, if you get shoved on by a larger stack, it's probably better to just fold. Why take the 20% chance that you will get knocked out ? Take the money and keep playing. The other situation is where there are multiple shoves in front of you. Your 80% can actually drop below 50% with a few opponents. Granted, you rarely have more than 2 shoves on a given hand, so this situation doesn't present itself very often (it's never happened to me). Other than that, I can't think of any reasons to fold AA. KK is a little different. With multiple raises in front, you can sometimes be very confident that a player has AA if one of the players is very tight. I have never made this lay down, though. I only had my KK run into AA one time and that was when I was shoving my short stack in a tournament. The 20% was not on my side that time and I got eliminated.

The only time I would consider it is if it was a Satty, on the bubble, and I'm facing a 3 or 4bet by the by a covered stack. And I'm NOT in last, or second to last place, with last place having only 1 or 2 blinds left while I have at least 5 or 6 margin. That's it. Never any other time....

We cant be resualts oriented, when we have 63% equity with AA even in a worest case senario, along with 72% in a best case senerio.... there is never a reason to fold AA.... now KK, I think I've folded it twice pre, ever.... and I dont play sattys. 1 I was facing a 4 bet, by the chip leader. I was top 5 in chips with 70 to go top 60ish get paid.... Vil was very agressive post, and was Very Nitty pre. I knew if I jammed my stack on thier 4bet (like we should be doing). I was gonna end up playing for stacks. Cause this players 3 and 4bet range is way too tight not too. and I didnt want to risk my top 5 spot.... I would much rather face this player at the final table, at a push fold range pre.... at very least after the bubble burst, and I wasnt facing a pay jump.... the other time I was litterally on the Final table Bubble, where there was close to 7 buy in jump.... I was Mid stacked, (25ish BBs) and barely covered, but the guy in last had only 1 or 2 BBs left.... I was facing a 3Bet Jam where I opened UTG, and they jammed from LJ, and 3betting player was playing pretty passively pre.

AA and KK happen so rarely that they are hard to fold. Folding either hand because you MAY get it all in later after seeing a good flop, is more of a gamble. You could end up dying a slow death by being blinded out.

Only once I had to throw away AA . But it was a responsible game and the more I was close to getting a ticket. I had a medium-sized stack and we had 2 extra players. I don't regret throwing away such a good cards . I decided not to risk it .I got a ticket .

With my bad luck lately I think this is the best thing to do: FOLD

I honestly do not like to give up on these hands under any circumstances, i may be making a big mistake more always i will.
