I’ve been grinding the Spin & Gold tables on GGPoker lately and want to open up a discussion on how you approach this specific jackpot Sit & Go format.

Because GG scales the tournament dynamics based on the multiplier you hit, a one-size-fits-all strategy doesn't work. I'd love to get your thoughts on a few key areas:
  1. Starting Hands & Ranges: How wide are you opening from the Button, and are you using a strict raise/shove strategy from the SB or incorporating limps?
  2. Multiplier Adjustments: How drastically do you change your approach between the hyper-fast x2/x3 games (300 chips, 1-min levels) and the deeper high-multiplier games where ICM and payouts actually matter?
How are you handling the swings, and what does your playbook look like for these?

I think one of the biggest adjustments in Spin & Gold is understanding that not every game should be played the same way. In the common x2 and x3 games, I'm focused almost entirely on chip EV because first place is all that matters. I'll open fairly wide from the Button and pay close attention to how often my opponents fold or defend so I can exploit their tendencies.

From the small blind, I don't like using only a raise-or-fold strategy. Mixing in some limps, especially against aggressive players, makes it harder for them to exploit me and lets me see flops with hands that play well post-flop.

Variance is also something every Spin player has to accept. Even if you're making good decisions, long losing stretches are part of the format. Keeping a solid bankroll, reviewing hands instead of results, and avoiding tilt are just as important as learning preflop ranges.

I'm curious how everyone else adjusts in the higher multipliers. Do you noticeably tighten up because of the larger payouts, or do you mostly stick to the same strategy and just make a few ICM adjustments?

In low multipliers (x2/x3), I play more aggressively and focus mainly on push/fold strategy because the structure is very fast. In bigger multipliers, I pay much more attention to ICM and survival.
Variance in Spin & Gold is huge, so good bankroll management and mental control are extremely important.
