How to commit ICM suicide

This hand is from the bubble of a 6-man SnG. 3. place get nothing, 2. place get 35% of the price pool and 1. place get 65% of the price pool. I am so short, that I am priced in to call with any two cards, and when I do that, I will bust at least half the time. So SB just had to press the "fold" button one more time to have a 50% chance of being in the money. Even though BTN is supposed to be jamming very wide, SB can only make a profitable call with JJ+, AKs. Yet he could not help himself, and thanks to his ICM suicide I ended up cashing with almost no chips

Classic bubble dynamics! It's amazing how often players throw away easy money because they just can't resist getting involved, completely ignoring proper ICM pressure. You love to see it when their mistake hands you the cashing spot!

When someone already have 80% of the chips in play, you should generally focus on playing for second, since you are highly unlikely to get the win.

Bahahaha. The best part is somewhere right now he's bitching about poker being rigged and that dam river card

. Despite the fact the best hand pre-flop when the money went in......won exactly like it's suppose too majority of the time.

I can't believe in 2026 players are still this stupid. It's mind boggling to me.

Indeed you should, especially when pretty short in this kind of sit n go. Once heads up a couple of lucky all ins and you can be right back in it

The goal is to survive while the others wipe each other out 😝😝 This happens even more in Bounty or KO tournaments: when I’m short-stacked and acting early, with two or three aggressive players to my left, I raise just enough to bait them into tearing each other apart—since they’re usually after my bounty rather than just my chips or my elimination. In that scenario, going All-In with QJ after a raise from the Button (who is also the chip leader) is just a one-way ticket away from the table—a gift for you.

Yes if SB fold, my best chance of cashing is to dubble up in this hand and outlast him. So as I wrote, it would be a call with any two situation for me.
