Really don't like these and do not always realise until I have entered a day 1. Think this rewards players with a bigger wallet as you may have more chips than someone else but not played better ignoring luck, because you re-enter to get a bigger stack. Normally you would not satellite multiple times to a satellite once you qualify but now they are letting you combine stacks. I do not think this is a good feature, what are your thoughts?

If you can combine stacks you should probably take that opportunity if you'll take advantage of being a big stack.

Rentering a phase one and taking forward the best stack is probably not worth it unless there are huge overlays or youbexpect to have an enormous edge.

When you can combine them though you can buy your way into being a big stack. If you're going to apply a lot of pressure and make use of the chiplead and abuse ICM nits it would probably be a great play but if you're going to be passive and be the table's piggybank you shouldn't.

That's the thing though, for players that only want to enter once, your disadvantaged against someone entering multiple stacks, it's no longer one tournament as you can pull in chips from other games. It's a strange variation. I can see why players do it but not keen on it. Prob not that cost effective if you already finish with a really good stack but if you have a stack in the middle and then enter again and finish with another middle stack you are now going into the final with a big stack which is a great advantage.

I have a decent stack finishing 25th/85 going through but don't know whether to do a cheap satty now just to improve my stack in the final. I am not aggressive enough in bounties but there's a large guarantee and it will give me more of an advantage. Not keen on this format but then think I am at a disadvantage to others who double up this way (but only if you qualify again obviously).

I mean, if you don't like the format the correct option was to fold pre, but you're already on the turn lol

If you can find more value before the next phase, take it. If not, be glad youre already ahead of most of the field.

GL on the later phase!

What tourney is that? I don't know if I've ever heard of one like that before but I'd be interested.

I find these 'Phase' tournaments with the multiple Day 1's where you can combine your stack is akin to a tournament with a buyin ~10x higher than 1 phase of it (so if you normally play $50 MTT's, then you'd be looking at entering a $5 one of these).
I also feel that this format is more suited to people who are playing MTT's OFTEN! ... as in almost every single day... a.k.a 'regs'. They're not suited to people who play a few MTT's on a weekend (aside from the unknowing ones).
Some of these tourneys you'll see 'top 10%' left in game move forward but in others (more recently) it's 'top 3%' of field advances. What? 3% ?? I'll take a hard pass on this. I'd rather play a satellite where it's top10-20% getting the ticket.
I'm not a fan. Can you tell?

This one is The Weekender Closer on GG, also seen them on ACR. They are also known as accumulator tourneys. Seen them more on phase tournaments.

3% is awful. Even for a lot of pro's I cannot see it as enjoyable to play. I like 15-20%. Noticed on GG bounty's are lowered to about 12% although you can make money from the bounties still rather these were at about 15%.

Spent too much on this one now. Did double up and should have left it at that but tried again. Final day is bad start time for me too (11pm).
