In my experience of online tournaments, technical issues related to internet connection or software have sometimes been a noticeable factor, but not a decisive one.
The most unpleasant situations have not been caused by a complete loss of internet, but rather by its instability. Short disconnections during an active hand can lead to automatic decisions at the table, and this always worsens expected results, especially in important stages of a tournament.
The software itself can also occasionally create problems. In rare cases, the client may freeze, restart, or become unstable at a critical moment in a hand. Such situations are especially frustrating when a large pot or an important tournament spot is on the line.
At the same time, I have come to understand over time that these factors are part of online poker. They cannot be fully controlled, so I focus on prevention: stable connection, reliable equipment, and minimizing technical risks.
In general, I treat these situations as external circumstances that should not affect the quality of my decision-making in the long run.
