Another great article from the team at CardsChat. I think the important point to come out of this is to have consideration about your opponents and how they play to inform you of what hands they may be playing in any given situation. Don't just rely on the lower end of the hand range but for example, a player in middle position could still have AA. Thanks Cardschat.

A great article will help me make better decisions! Although I have gained my own experience and try to stick to it, and it will be difficult for me to change the range!

Hello fellow players,

Great information about an important part of the game.

It is very critical to be able to put villain on a range since it puts hero in a good place to try taking down the pot. A little aggression when in position when you think that villain has missed his range completely, is all it takes sometimes.

Making the correct bet can also deter limpers. One take away from this post is to vary my bet-sizing to 4-5 time the big blinds early in the tournament. I often get annoyed when in a multi-way pot early in the tournament and my AK gets cracked by a worse hand who decided to cal my 3 x BB bet in the first round of the blinds.

It is also very crucial to observe others who do not use those pre-flop calling ranges, especially those chronic stealers in high-jack and cut-off position. An unexpected re-raise or shove with the right hand and stack size can really turn the tables on them.

This game is filled with excitement and uncertainties. A good pre-flop game is only the beginning but can certainly help one get chips from the lose players out there.

Good Article for beginners who love to limp hehehe I remember my first days on poker limping and not being agressive when I started learning a little bit more about poker it was like woah... so those who are starting and want to be better follow this strategy with preflop ranges defined you will face less hard decision making on the post flop game

This article deals with the issue of "calls" in a very superficial way. While it is true that preflop we can make calls with a certain set of hands, when we bring those hands to the postflop game, without the having enough knowledge, We will find ourselves in many complicated situations where we will not know what to do.

A basic rule says: "... while less postflop knowledge we have, less hands we should carry to the flop ..." reason to be careful with our call ranges when we are beginners.

Everything is alright, even nothing to add.
Only the 30 BBs stack line for turbo tournaments is somewhat overpriced.

A great article, I liked especially the last part - I have burnt many blinds by calling early at the table, just to see somebody to go all in.

There are many factors in deciding preflop calling ranges in poker.

Position, bet sizing, and stack size are all things to consider. And don't forget table dynamics, your reads on players, and knowing how to expand your option in later positions.

We've put together a guide to help walk you through it: Your Guide to Pre-flop Calling Ranges

Great for beginners wanting to expand on their game, or a refresher for you seasoned players maybe needing a reset. Take a look and let us know what you think!
i just took a look to the guide , it s very useful to behonest , pre - flop is very important to win the hand , also it s not easy calling even with good hand , but thank you Cardschat for this great guide as it helped me a lot improve my game . you guys are the best .

I agree that this article can be very helpful however, it's not so simple to follow because not everyone plays the ranges they should in the positions they should. I would say most times, they are out of range, out of position or both so it definitely makes it hard to follow a standard guide.
