During the bubble, I try to stay patient and pay close attention to stack sizes. If I’m a big stack, I apply pressure to medium stacks because they often don’t want to risk their tournament life. If I’m short, I look for good spots to steal rather than waiting until I have only a few big blinds left. ICM becomes very important here, so not every profitable chip decision is necessarily a profitable tournament decision.

Playing the bubble is one of those spots where discipline and awareness of stack sizes really separate the solid players from the ones who just punt. The bubble is basically a pressure cooker: short stacks are terrified of busting before the money, big stacks are licking their chops to abuse that fear, and medium stacks are stuck in the middle trying not to get crushed. The first thing you need to do is identify where you stand in that dynamic. If you’re short, survival is key tighten up, pick your spots carefully, and don’t risk your tournament life unless you’ve got fold equity or a strong hand. If you’re a big stack, this is your time to apply maximum pressure: open wider, 3-bet lighter, and force the medium stacks to make miserable decisions. And if you’re in that awkward middle zone, you’ve got to balance don’t get bullied, but don’t take unnecessary risks either.

Several factors come into play during the tournament bubble; one of them is your stack size in big blinds. If you have a large stack, you should play more aggressively against short stacks while exercising caution against players with similar stack sizes. If you are short-stacked, you cannot simply wait for the blinds to eat away at your chips; instead, you should be prepared to move all-in with decent hands.

There's many factors to consider, but basically you can put some pressure with a bigger stack, and tight your range if you are covered by others.
If there's just a few players left to ITM and you are in a safe position, there's a lot of playable hands that doesn't worth the risk to pay a possible 3bet or a shove.
