Any hand that you get married to is the most dangerous one.

It has taken me years to realize the wisdom of such a statement.

If we get AA and raise preflop from early position and get 5 callers, we're in big trouble if we get married to our hand. The only way we should ever see a river card is if it checks around on both the flop and turn. LOL Or if we flop top set, then it's okay to go with it.

Or say we get KK on the button, raise the blinds and both call... flop comes 678 with two spades and the SB leads out and BB raises... what do we do here? If we get married to our hand, we're probably in big trouble, especially when the turn is either 5 of spades or 9 of spades.

The point is... in no-limit holdem, ANY card combination can be dangerous depending on the flop cards and the action. Don't get married to your hand!! This one statement really improved my game once I realized the wisdom of it. Good luck at the tables!

What is the most dangerous hand in poker?

The most dangerous hand on poker, in my opinion, is the hand that gets to see the flop without a raise. The two important variables in successful MTT play are minimizing mistakes and gathering as much information as possible (then incorporating that information into your actions). When a player gets to limp into a hand pre-flop, then your chance to gather information is eliminated. I can't believe how often people allow it to happen and it's extremely frustrating to watch.

AJ always seems to be a trouble hand for me. Unless I flop two pair or better, it feels like I'm never quite sure where I am in the hand.

If I raise from early position and flop an ace, it is not uncommon to run into someone who just called the raise with AQ. Stuff like that...

I have afwul results with JJ. No wonder there is so many memes about JJ preflop vs postflop.
Plus its not good enough to push all-in recklessly with reasonable stack.

Just right, at the freeroll I took 55th place out of 54 prize money.
I had 1bb and two aces went all-in.
The winner had 28c and had a flush on the turn and river. This case is the most offensive.
There were others, for example, when 3 players went all-in, I had a 95.9% chance of winning at the time of the turn with a pair of aces. The other two players went all-in with a pair of fours, which came the flop. What card do you think fell on the river?)
