Imagine you're playing an online poker tournament and you're getting close to the money. You look down at pocket Kings (KK), one of the strongest starting hands in poker.
An opponent suddenly goes all-in, and you have to decide whether to call or fold. You know KK is a very strong hand, but getting eliminated just before the money would be frustrating.
Would you call the all-in without hesitation, or would you consider folding because of the tournament situation? Does your decision change depending on your chip stack and the opponent's playing style?
I'd love to hear how you would approach this situation!

I'm probably calling but what are the stacks and what are the jammer's tendencies? I need to know this to figure out how much of Villain's jam range is AA. If he's short-staffed it's an easy call. If there are players behind I might have to raise.

Post the Hand with the particulars. (fwiw, without knowing the details I can still say I'm probably never folding... unless 'maybe' it's a small field tourney, villain has me covered and he & I are top two chip stacks in the tourney and there's a few on less than 4bb's AND the game is at the top of my buy-in range)

I would call with KK almost any time, since it is one of the premium hands. The fact that you are near the money should rarely cause you to fold, but it depends on stack sizes and the range of the opponent. If I were to be covered and the very tight player pushes all in for a huge pot, I would certainly think about it. The situation might be even justified from an ICM perspective, but kings are too strong to be folded in most cases. ♠️😅

Fold, the villain is going to show A4o and the A is going to come on the flop, you guys know it...

"Jokes aside," it’s the second-best possible hand... It depends on your context and the size of the tournament / the opponent’s action, but in general (and in most contexts), I’d play it even in this situation.

If the amount awarded after the buble is 0.1-50$ ill 100% call everytime. If its 100$-500$ I might think and value the situation. if its 10k+ those cards go the bin.

More detalis to consider: stack sizes, position, current rank... but I would say in most cases I call. A possibility to double up and increase chances for serious reward is usually better than bleeding to get to min-cash.

It will depend on several factors—the type of tournament, the prize money, and, above all, the history of the opponent who is going all-in.

OKAY I PLAY, ALWAYS

if the villain has you covered, i would let it go , unless he has been playing a lot of hands just stealing pots

I would consider the stack sizes, the player also but unfortunately it would be too hard to fold as the opponent may have pocket QQ JJ 1010
even a small pair. But if I remember well I did get busted out of a tournament with KK against JJ who hit a set, right on the bubble.

Depend the opponent profile that's jamming, and the position. I've folded them even not being in the bubble. Sometimes It's not the moment to leave it to chance... hell I even folded AA with 2 players going all behind.
But in general of course is a GO GO CALL.
