AK vs KQ which do you prefer?

AK is more favored than KQ because it has the over card ace,but i prefer the KQ because it has more outs than the AK because AK to me just like A4 or under can only have 4 outs for the open end which makes it no better than a gut shot.

The open end doesnt bring that much equity.
You have to prefer the Ace of the Queen, also for the aggressiveness!

Thats true with any quality hand,when you just call or slow play you are allowing other hands to catch up to you and beat you,just calling with a premium hand can get you into trouble just as easy with AK thats why you should always place an aggressive preflop bet and never slow play unless you flop the lock.

AKvs KQ statistically better?

AK may be more valued but the most outs even AK suited has is 18,where KQ suited has 21 being double open ended.Lets face it,everybody prefers an ace.Now if AK is up against KQ the outs are even at 18 because the ace outkicks on a pair of kings so the KQ loses 3 outs.

If you have to decide which hand is better if AK or KQ using the math the answer would always be AK is shown when calculating the odds ... but if you decide for pleasure ... it will simply be your tastes ..!

With KQ you're often dominated, and AK has the ace overcard as mentioned before. It also dominates any Ax, so that's nice

KQ you have only the Q so 3 outs AK you have all the other cards in the deck to be able to win the hand.

I would rather have AK AQ or AJ over KQ. KQs vs ATs I would rather have the AT but its very close. KQ has a bit more playability being a high suited connector but AT can sometimes win unimproved with Ace-high.

The reason you want the hand AK is because it is by far the very best unpaired hand you can get. It has lots of equity against all hand types except KK and AA. Even against hands like QQ or JJ it has almost 50% equity, against any other unpaired hand it has 60%-65% equity and over 70% equity against other Ace-x hands. You will very rarely be far behind preflop with AK.

I would rather have AK > KQ everytime

What is the meaning of this question? I prefer JTs, than 99, but if I play full ring UTG, I will fold JTs. Do you ever fold AKo and call (raise) with KQs? No...
