Poker is a theoretical differential game.
AK vs QK sucks in nl you don't want that!! In low limit maybe you can gamble on it and don't care much because it's just a few bets. QK vs what you guess to be 9-10 could be very substantial as a drawing and 2 pair nightmare for 9-10 with a few different flops. Like Q-J-9 good flop for his hand but if it blanks out you win and you have TP leverage. With 9-10-2 he flops what looks great but loses to a J turn or river giving you the nuts so you want this theoretical match up in a light pot.
QK-vs AK only spells nightmares when the pot is big enough and your committed. Flops like q-10-4 might induce gamble from ace king to broadway and he can still win with a river ace. Conversely Q-6-4 you wont get any action or more money from him and he may just fold. The worst situation is K-7-4 it looks great your calling him down to blanks and he shows you AK it's just a bad situation 90% of the time unless you flop 2 pair however even then he might not be adept to this and call down rivering a better 2-P. In other words Q-K vs A-K is no better than 5-6 of suit. You can flop 3-4-9 with it and bet out to ace king he will fold! Do the same with 5-6-K he will call you but has outs to counterfeit and win outright it's no different.
