Hi forum,

Started playing Poker two weeks ago. Finished the Pokerstars school and I'm playing like 3 hours a day on Poker888. I thought, that website will suite me better then Pokerstars, because they have more hard-hitters. But oke, so I'm playing for like for 2 weeks now and I'm facing bankroll problems.

Let's say: I start at 10am in the morning and after half an hour I made like 1$. But later that day, I lose it again and it's not because I'm tired but everybody at 0.01¢ is playing on the draw or I don't know why. So next day I made again 1$ and then I lose it again... I know, that I'm not a star but everything what I earn I lose the same day or maybe lose more then I earned :(

Hope that you guys can help me :D

There is an excellent poker game, a ladder :) Try on the micro limit to go to the table having $ 1 in the morning to make $ 2 and get out, in the evening again on a micro limit of 2 to make 4. The next morning, raise the game to 0.02-0.05 and then play only for earned, You probably have a little lack of confidence. If you lose, start all over again. This way you will save your bank and gain confidence in the game. Cache play is not easy. And I would still give advice to increase the playing time. 1 hour for the cache is very small .. good luck! :)

Maybe you should tighten up your play if you are playing at 9-handed or 10-handed tables, if you are playing heads up, then bring the aggression and try to put pressure on your opponents. With enough time I am sure you will be able to build your bankroll. Also maybe do some studying on the topic of poker.

You can build your bankroll 1 dollar but only if at this time seriously study poker otherwise it's a waste of time

Have you tried to play freeroll tournaments? You can practice there and you don't have anything to lose, but you can earn some money if you win some place. When I started playing poker, I started with freerolls. Maybe it is too early to play cash tables.

To win skillwise you need to improve. If skills are in order in the long term you will win. Thats what i learnt on cards chat. The very best of luck in your journey.

By not calling a 3 bet in that position will automatically make you a target for regs. Simply get a feel for the table and 3 bet range especially in 6 max. Calling and C betting and folding to any raise over the top has great equity. Like I said play outside your comfort zone and examine different lines throughout your hand history is what gives you a slighter edge over your opponent.

Edit: Calling a 3 bet with AA and KK is usually how I play and I find it more profitable rather than risking your stack pre.

- I agree it’s good to try different lines, too often I find myself guilty of sticking to the old ways
- There is no regs that can target you in 2NL for simple action of folding to 3bet, on the contrary 3bet ranges of regs are so tight that you can fold practically always
- Calling out of position knowingly with bad hand is not needed in nano stakes, except if you want to play LAG style, but then again 2NL surely is the worst place to search folding equity, maybe 10NL you could start implementing that with good results, maybe?!?
- If calling too light is the most common mistake in 2NL, then not trying to 4bet is a mistake. Against agro this line is good though (imo).
- And QJo is too weak to open UTG even 6 max, so that is easily a snap fold vs 3bet, so I agree with mr_kommpa here. And almost everything is snap fold against reg 3betting his 4% overall range that translates to 1% range against UTG. Now if you are loose as a melted ice cream then obviously dynamics change a bit.

.

I think for most players, it has to do with confidence.
Ofcourse, sometimes you get unlucky and lose it with your AA or KK starting hand or by getting rivered by that 1- 2- 3- 4- or 6-outer.

$1 is only half a buy in at the 1c2c games so it isn't hard at all to get down that much, that would just be variance.

Play on stars, I don't really get what you mean when you say 888 has more heavy hitters. Do you mean good players? Because that's an awful reason to play on a certain site haha

Are you playing zoom?

When you win do not think that you are with a lot of money, give an exit of the room, leave the site a little, rest for about 10 minutes. Then come back with the little chips. If you feel it is not your day, then go outside.

What you could do is look for other types of games where you can be more productive in those hours, such as tournaments or sit n go; Try where you're going best.

I have had similar experiences playing many hours in a day. It may be the amount of hands you see losing patience later in the day. Also it seems like you are very conscious of this problem. Almost as if you are waiting for it to happen. This is a bad mind set and may have to do with why you lose your money later in the day.

winning consistently on a cash game needs skills , i started freeroller and MTT , i reached 600usd twice and go back to zero because of cash games

they r very hard to master , right now i am on the track of very low profits on cash games which i am happy about

Well, maybe you should try to play some Sit and Go's to develop your single table play, and at the same time, see some differents spots to exploit players. Differently from cash games, sngs requires more flexibility, and as you adquire it, when playing cash games again you'll be a more aware player, seeing more spots and making better plays

I advise you to change the game, I particularly do not play well cash. I prefer the Sit & Go, I have been profiting from it, but you can play Spin & Go, MTT, Knockout, BeatClock. Try changing the game to see which one fits you best

Don't be fooled by the hype. It's very hard to be good at poker and it takes a lot of study andhard work.

You do not seem to understand variance. Even if you are a very good winner, you will have long periods where you will break even or lose.

Have a proper bankroll, I would recommend 100 buyins for NL 0.01/0.02 Zoom or 75 for normal and study and play.

I am afraid you are trying to run before you learn to walk, Doyle Brunsen once said "Poker is a game you can learn in 5 mins, but takes a lifetime to master"
Cash games are a completely different animal and it takes a long time before you can dive in that deep. If I were in your shoes, just starting off playing on-line I would limit myself to Free-roll MTTs and small single table Sit and Go's. The rewards might be small but they are a good way to start learning the complexities of the game and building your bankroll.
Every one has their bad days and the best thing you can do is take a break from playing and read a few more books on poker, or even use the tutorial here in Cardschat "Become a winning Poker player in 30 days" It has helped me a lot in learning about the Power of position etc, and about the more finer points in playing the game.
One book or one tutorial does not give you the knowledge to be a great player, It is practice and patience and playing thousands of hands that help you to become better.

Good Luck in your Poker Career!

Multitabling is one of the bad adviced for new players.
You may be right, but playing at many tables you play depending on the strength of the hand, while playing at one table more and more temptations to play some weak hand that often costs you dearly.

You need to keep playing, even if you are playing zero. To analyze your game and work on mistakes, you need to play several thousand hands at least. Play ABC poker, I think it will be enough to overcome the first limit.
