I think the first hand is a fold. No two pairs or sets or even a straight is shoving for value. He's got to have Ax hearts or air I think. I would have made it a little bigger on the river though. Betting 2/3 twice then less than 1/2 on the river telegraphs that you don't like the heart. But you probably saved yourself a little money.

I'm snap calling this guy in the second hand. The only thing I think makes sense that is beating you is J 10. I don't see anyone checking QQ, trips or a boat on the turn hoping to c/r.

Hi fig, As or3o1990 said, first hand is a fold , all the draws that the BB range has get there on the river. And the on the second hand i'd make a 3bet preflop with AKo vs MP1 , and as played crying call on the river

Weird spot , on the turn if i had the Qc i'd shove , but just c/f on the turn. On the river im betting 1/3 bc i expect him to call with worst hands. I think this was a mistake because im capping my range and as he is a good reg, he could shove on me very widely and expect a fold.

hand 1 if you are going to call a bet is it better to bet or just check/call depending on sizing. Only reason I called was massive fish in BB who called my AA 5bet earlier with another player whio had 4Bet KK and they had JQs and obv won

I think I'm betting this brick turn card nearly always for extra value from Kx and draws plus I don't want to give a free card to a FD here.
If you wait until the river and his draws miss you aren't getting another cent out of him unless he bluffs.
You pot control here isn't needed 2pair is unlikely and we can't play scared of sets.
We talk about maximising EV in this thread and not forcing out weaker hands but I don't think giving a free card is right here and he still has a chance to bluff on the end on most runouts.
The result of the hand was sick, QJ yuk terrible call pre by the villain.

Don't get tempted just because the fish is there. Your problem is the guy in the cut off and even more reason not to play is that you aren't closing the action, even a fish can limp raise.

Flop and turn look good, I like your turn sizing. River is a c/f. Standard. But just don't get into this spot. This happens with a lot of hands you're posting. You could be my poster child for why regs who can play solid, think they have a good pre-flop strategy, but don't (and I say that w/ love ). You really need to get more solid on this side, and you'll be eliminating so many future mistakes.

I'd lean towards a bet fold of 2.3. As a value blocker. He's too aggressive to go c/c c/c here and allow him to pick the sizing. I think you can go bet, if he calls, then c/f river. I don't think there's enough he'd turn into a bluff at that point. He'll have some show down value. So if he bets, it's going to be for value vs hands you don't beat.

Is there some converter we can use for this site? Either from CC or elsewhere? Are you pulling this from HM or PT? Both have converters built in also fyi.

Open a little more pre. I'd be CR that turn most of the time. A lot of draws, combo draws, and considering it's a bvb spot, you'll get looked up a lot lighter, so take advantage of it.

Yeah, once you check the turn you kind of have to know what kind of reg you're against. You're correct that your range looks capped and so you need to know if he understand that. If he does, then you shouldn't be VBing the river unless you bet an amount close to what you did there or even slightly smaller to induce. If he's a bad reg, you should be betting a little more and knowing at that point if they shove it's for pure value and you can fold (even getting good odds). If you're unsure, then still you should be VBing bigger or checking.

Thanks mate, which course would you recommend for someone who prior to black Friday was a breakeven player at 50NL full ring but is just coming back to cash games now? I think there are still a lot of things I need to brush up on but a lot of that basic stuff I can find as it is.

Yeh I guess the main factors are the board texture and the amount of players in the pot. In this hand I had the players but the board was so dry they will generally fold without a Q.

Feel like I had a few coolers today but want to see how bad you guys think I played them.

These are all coolers No Brainer. Even if the villain was a super nit you never get away from any of these so don't think on these spots too much. I think you could have lost less on the AJ but other than that you played them fine.

As or3o1990 says, they are all coolers. Not much to do but, i think on the second hand where you have QK, when you min 4 bet in the flop, you are showing SO MUCH strenght , and you isolating yourself vs the hands that are beating you AQ(4 combos) ,22(3 combos),Q2s(1 combo) ( as you can tell, there are only 8 combos beating you, and there is a lot of air in his range which will fold to a 4bet on the flop) , a good reg could fold a Q with a weaker kicker. Also you were in position, so just a call and let him continue with some of his c/raise bluffs on dry boards is fine.

Thanks mate, which course would you recommend for someone who prior to black Friday was a breakeven player at 50NL full ring but is just coming back to cash games now? I think there are still a lot of things I need to brush up on but a lot of that basic stuff I can find as it is.

You might be in between, but I'd go for the Iron Lion course. If it's a little too much for you, then just let me know and we can switch you to the roots course.
