....I lifted my weary head and looked at the girl.Everything seemed torn from a surreal movie. Blinding lights, music that seemed to come from the walls, and people laughing for no reason. I was sitting at the roulette table, with sweaty hands and heavy head. I didn't know if it was because of the whiskey, the cigar, or the pill Elvis had given me. Yes, Elvis... or someone who looked like him.
The little girl shouted again: “Everything on zero!” and laughed as if he were at the circus. A flamingo in a tuxedo beckoned me to leave the fries. I wanted to protest, but my tongue was stuck to the sky of my mouth. The band was singing “Don't Stop Me Know” and I kept wondering if I was dreaming or trapped in a Vegas-themed nightmare.
Roulette stopped. It's zero. The girl jumped up. Everyone applauded. Me? I was trying to remember if I came alone or if I was part of an experiment.
This is how you feel when the world becomes a joke that you no longer understand, or when someone puts something in the drink, but still...
This where the story leaves off, so anyone reading pick it up from here. After much deliberation, I finally decided to play at the poker tables and listen to my dog's instincts. He was my faithful friend in life and somehow warned me that luck would be with me tonight and I could win the coveted ticket in this card tournament that would secure me a place in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
As the final hand began, the room seemed to fade into silence. Every sound, every movement slowed down — it was just me, the cards, and the faint echo of my dog’s bark in my mind. The dealer burned one card and placed the flop on the felt: Ace of hearts, Ten of hearts, Seven of clubs. After much deliberation, I finally decided to play at the poker tables and listen to my dog's instincts. And then the alarm clock rang, and I realized I was late for work. I quickly got ready and ran to catch the bus. During my shift at the machine, I kept thinking about the slots in that casino. When my shift ended and I got home, I opened my email — there was a bonus from the casino. I had never played slots before, since seeing those huge wagering requirements, I thought it was impossible to clear them. But today I decided to try, and quite easily, within two hours, I cleared a $100 bonus. Now I’ll use this opportunity more often. Of course, I was lucky this time, and it won’t always work out like that — but the sun will rise again, and I’ll try once more.Eat it all like it was Grandma's apple pie! I now saw Mike Matusow hollering at me in the car behind me because the light turned green at some point
in my dream state. I flipped him the bird and punched the gas. It was time to cruise The Strip and enjoy the lights! The Bellagio caught my eyes with water dancing all about. What should I do now I thought.....
