I think the comfort is worth the small extra cost. $40 is not much. It's not $200 or $300. I think I would do the same.

In this case, the upgrade was worth it, right? Live poker is quite expensive.

I’d definitely pay extra. I love comfortable surroundings and am happy to pay extra for them. Quite simply, there’s no reason why I shouldn’t treat myself to this.
Totally right. Life is too short and you don't even know if such an occasion would present itself again.

I know. I've been playing poker for years now and no one has ever explained to me why that "villain" word has been chosen. And what I hate more and don't understand is that pros and content creators are using it all the time, like nothing!!!
$100 will get you $1 that it was a man who began the practice. I did a Google search for where it originated and the AI came up with this:

"There is no single, definitively recorded first instance of a poker player calling their opponent "the villain." The term "villain" (along with "hero") became prevalent in poker terminology during the rise of online poker and poker training sites in the early 2000s."

Two things I noticed in that is that it probably comes from online poker, and not the live poker publications. That makes sense because online, aside from things like our leagues here at CardsChat, is very impersonal. It is much easier to regard someone as an enemy if you've never had any interaction with them face to face. During that time period poker was pretty much a boys club. I can remember playing at Foxwoods in the 90s to early 2000s and women were few and far between.

To tell you the truth, it was worth a lot more than that.

Definitely. The event I played in the following day was a $320 tournament in which I got knocked out just a few players from the bubble, but the suite experience made up for everything.

The extra charge isn't that much, so I don't think there's really anything to think about.

True. The girl said it was just the tax.

I think you can afford to spend $35, especially since, as I understand it, you’ll likely have much higher expenses on a trip like this :)

True. Even the cheapest hotels or motels would charge you more than that for a night.

I jump on the extra money for a nice suite, although, as said, not much time is spent in the room.
To tell the truth, unless in a tourney, I end up spending more time enjoying the room than originally planned
You can bet they expect you to gamble in their casino for a good amount of time, or you won't be invited back.

The suite sounds pretty sweet to me...I know my wife would love it...we got a jacuzzi suite room once, where the jacuzzi was not in the bathroom, but in the bedroom part itself...we learned a very harsh lesson...NEVER put bubble bath crystals in a jacuzzi!!!!! It reminded me of a 1958 movie starring Steve McQueen called "The Blob", where this alien life form just kept eating everything in it's path and growing and growing...half the room was filled with bubbles...it was hysterical...and the carpet was wet for the entire 3 day stay...there were no cell phones back then, but if we could have filmed it, it would certainly qualify for America's Funniest Home Videos!

True, normally, I used to spend barely any time in the comp rooms, just showers and a couple of hours sleep. But that one time, I did not leave that suite till the following day.

It was precisely mine who jumped on the idea before I had the chance to even think about it 🤪. And the jacuzzi was in a huge sitting area. I t was worth a lot more than that $35!
