Did you lose money under the influence of alcohol because you were braver?

I lost, often and a lot. Especially in my youth. I was gambling, explosive and frankly stupid, so I lost money repeatedly gambling while drunk, especially a lot of money I lost playing slots.

I don't drink when I play . Neither anything else like smoking weed . Clrarimd for best decisions . If I drink I ll start playing very loose poker

In every day life I'm wound up too tight because of heavy metal poisoning to my nervous system and the damn PTSD I live with from service way back in my early 20's.

A drink or a dozen seriously chills me out . There's nothing more fun than playing super tight/ extremely aggressive at low buy-in tables. Anyone with a history of raising over 5% is usually bluffing and often you'll find people raising near 50% of their hands. I've seen stats of people betting preflop on every hand. Obviously they are easy money if you play them right. Muck ace high no pair no draw to a preflop raise and wait till a better time. I mean play extra tight and very aggressive when you can. If your table imagine is good they'll fold or better call you when a low pocket hits hard. It's all about your table image.

From my point of view, alcohol and poker have always gone hand in hand, I don't know if it is because of the presentations made in the media such as movies or series, where a group of people playing poker is almost always drinking some alcohol, likewise the casinos strengthen the idea that a poker player is an alcoholic due to the immense amount of sales that this product has, making the poker or casino player see that they almost do not distinguish them in a person who cannot control themselves by drinking alcohol, this being totally a lie, in my experience playing poker and watching television tournaments it can be seen that this is not the case, its consumption is limited

Poker and alcohol are on the opposite sides. Alcohol poker means brave without potential which is a true suicide. As a young player I`ve lost a lot of money under alcohol.

I like a drink if I am playing poker late at night but as I only ever play small stakes
my band balance never takes a hit from me drinking, anyhow I don't drink a lot these days.

More seriously, no it is not good for my game. I make some bad decisions sober already, so drunk just increase the chances of mistakes.

I’m not a drinker, but I equate drinking alcohol while playing poker with playing when I’m sleepy…either way your decision making puts you at a disadvantage.

In my opinion, alcohol and gambling are things that don't go together.

A drink or two can help ease nerves and make the game more enjoyable., but If you're sober and others are drinking, they may make mistakes, giving you an edge.
