Alcohol and Poker

Never mix the two. Even go further and say I won't play tired, bad day at work or in a fowl mood. Really not worth my time to play an hour or so and not complete and MTT because I've lost focus or interest.

Gave up the demon drink decades ago. Never had a problem with it but realised it is no good ultimately. Alcohol and poker is probably not a good combination, but alcohol and driving is even worse.

Alcohol doesn't really affect my behaviour. Drunk or sober, I will never spend extra money because I always have a very limited amount of it
In other words, in order to spend extra, you must first have extra.

Alcohol makes you play more aggressively, I don't think it's a good idea to play like that, when you play poker you have to have maximum concentration to make decisions.

I don't see it as a good idea. I have played a bit online after a few beers and looking back at the hand history I definitely played a bit looser. Luckily no real losses, but it certainly affects how I play.

Yes, absolutely! Alcohol definitely gave me a false sense of confidence — I felt braver, made looser calls, and took risks I normally wouldn’t. At the time, it felt fun and bold… but looking back, it wasn’t smart at all. Poker demands focus and clear thinking, and playing under the influence usually ends in regret and a lighter bankroll. Lesson learned!

I lost a lot of money once because I logged into my account after a night out partying. That’s why I’ve never done it again — so I really don’t recommend mixing alcohol and poke
