If you approach the choice of tournaments correctly, then it is more profitable to play them than cash games, at least it seems to me so.

Tournaments are very good for gamblers. You lose less when you're unlucky and you're hot

I do enjoy to play tournaments much better than playing cash games. The money for tournaments is good and you can win some good money. In cash games the money is smaller and I don't enjoy playing in them.

Tournament are better for me, you pay buy-in once and forget about it. In cash game you lose money right now. And tournaments have good prizes if you get luck and reach final table!

Tournaments are more exciting then playing for cash, I love the excitement of the game. Cash you can wait for hands more , Tournaments you have to to wait for hands as well. But once blinds are up there, you have to play hands more often. That's the thrill and excitement of tournaments.

cash or tournaments?

in fact the comparison of which is better is rather a little incorrect, since which is better to play depends on your individual characteristics !!

The better is... Depends, you need to understand the relationship you want to establish with the game... If you are playing for fun, if you are just playing for gamble, you want to become a professional, how often you want to play, the time you can play, external pressures may tend to change your gameplay... Depends even the limits you are playing.

The clothes that, usually, fits on my body may not fit on yours.

However, I rather tournaments instead of cash games, mainly, online.

There's a reason many professional players prefer cash tables to tournaments. The variance in tournaments is much greater than at cash tables. Of course, we can limit the variation by playing on smaller scale events; but generally, to play MTTs for a living, you have to be prepared to accept some variation. In extreme cases, a cash game pro who plays considerable volume may not make a profit for more than a month, simply as a result of a bad run, i.e. variation. For an MTT pro, it becomes much more difficult. An MTT pro can literally go more than six months without seeing any return on investment. And we're talking about an online MTT specialist who plays a fair amount of tournaments. When we start looking at the pro players that are on the live circuit, we can see that there are pros who can literally go for years with being unlucky enough not to get that big jackpot. However, there is undoubtedly more prestige and excitement surrounding tournaments. We could win up to 10 buy-ins at a cash table and probably no one would care. But winning a large-scale MTT is generally considered a much more remarkable achievement. It's also very exciting to make the final table of a large-scale event, much more than just playing a standard cash game all day. If you like excitement and prestige, maybe tournaments are for you. If your main concern is to make a consistent profit with a small variance, then cash tables are the best choice.

It depends more on the player itself besides the type of game you want to play in poker, variance is the key here, soooo do what you do best basically, for me is tournaments...

I use cash games for learning and improving my game. I play tournaments when I want to have fun and try different strategies.

i think its based on personal preference, if you have plenty of free time then tourneys can be fun but if time is limited i would recommend cash games or sit and go's

I would have to go with tournaments. They are much harder to win, but the discipline needed, is not as great as with cash games.

With cash games, you can be doing really well for a couple of hours, then blow all your profits with one hand.

It's happened to me too many times, so I stick mainly to tournaments, now, where one, or two mistakes aren't as costly.

I think cash is a difficult level, especially for beginners. Tournaments are much calmer and more stable

Cash game is more fun and harder

Good morning everyone, Mtts are much easier to win money than cash games.
I've been playing poker since late 2018 and my best cash game day I think I won something close to $50 and at Mtts my best day I won $800.
The cash game is a more fun game, on the other hand, it is much more difficult.
I use the Mtts to earn money and the cash game I play for fun, I try my best to make correct plays and especially read the villains.
A good advice in cash game is to try your best to play against villains who have less than 100 BBs and villains who have much more than 300 BBs are usually stronger players.
The strategies for Mtts are much simpler than in the cash game.
In cash game you have to study hard to be consistently profitable.

I think that there is no modality that is better than the other, like everything in life, taste depends on the person. For example, for me the best thing is the tournaments, I love the competition and knowing that I can reach the final table makes me more passionate about the game. But I have also read comments from many other players who like cash games much more. It all depends on the player in the end. Regards.
