Do you drink alcohol when you play poker?

I don't think it's a good idea to consume alcohol when you play poker or any other type of strategy game. Your brain needs to be focused 100% .

But when I visited Vegas to play live I did have a few beers at the poker table, and I made a nice profit as well. So 1 or 2 bottles of beer is no problem, just don't push it!

Nope I never drink at a poker table, maybe if I go with some friends will probable just one or two but going alone is a no no. At the beginning going to the casino they used to give us a free meal for us playing cash, I always declined for the same reason staying concentrated, later on getting to know the regulars and getting information on them I would accept the meal but will eat between hands I was not in and pay attention to the hand going on in the moment.

When playing live i definitely like to take just a nip or two to calm my nerves (tend to get more nervous in live games) also in bigger more important OLP games. To clarify I don't drink enough to even catch a buzz just a small bit to calm me down. Sometimes late on weekends I will get in a $1 micro or something when I'm pretty drunk but just for fun I'm not concerned with the outcome. :drunken_s

regarding me .. that I don’t drink alcohol at all .. I prefer good tea. but I can’t quit smoking habit ... while playing poker I smoke even more if the stack decreases .. I think alcohol is one of the most bad habits ..

I feel identified with you! At that time I was offered food I declined when I was playing poker at the casino. The food works better for me in electronic roulette lol.
